Birthplace of the Open Championship

At number 9 in our list of Scotland's best courses, Prestwick Golf Club is a must visit when travelling to the west coast.

Home to the first ever Open Championship in 1860 and then host to a further 23 editions, Prestwick gives a truly unique experience for our guests. The layout of the course is unique and quirky with a really traditional feel, with blind approach shots, undulating greens and some daunting tee shots! The experience is enhanced by the incredible service in the clubhouse and the historical artefacts it holds! A great inclusion in any trip to Scotland.
