Birthplace of the Open Championship

At number 9 in our list of Scotland's best courses, Prestwick Golf Club is a must visit when travelling to the west coast.

Home to the first ever Open Championship in 1860 and then host to a further 23 editions, Prestwick gives a truly unique experience for our guests. The layout of the course is unique and quirky with a really traditional feel, with blind approach shots, undulating greens and some daunting tee shots! The experience is enhanced by the incredible service in the clubhouse and the historical artefacts it holds! A great inclusion in any trip to Scotland.

As we all know, there are some great golf courses in Scotland, however there also some south of the border too, especially in England’s Golf Coast.

I had a great few days in the Liverpool/Southport area last week playing at the iconic Royal Birkdale, historic Wallasey Golf Club and the traditional West Lancashire golf club.

With the 151st Open Championship returning to Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) in 2023 these course will be in huge demand next year with the extra coverage they will receive.

It’s the final day of The Open at St Andrews and many of the clients and staff are here. A warm but cloudy day is good for scoring so Rory and Victor are going to have shoot in the mid 60s to be in with a chance of picking up that Claret Jug. Two great players. Is it a match play game already or can one of the pack go low and sneak up on them? A great day’sgolf is assured. Enjoy it everyone wherever in the world your watching.

The season is well under way. Hundreds of clients have come and gone. Fortunately most of them got their luggage- you may have heard of luggage mountains at some airports! A few clients had some issues but they all got resolved eventually. St. Andrews is always a busy place. Tours round the best of Ireland’s courses are also going great. Lots of clients having good times.
We’re getting ready for The Open with many groups arriving in a few weeks.
The tour specialists are working on 2023 and 2024 tours so the message continues to be - plan ahead.
Hope your summer is going well and we look forward to hearing from you again to start on your tour in ‘23 or ‘ 24 soon.
