Grown your own conker tree from conkers you collect. When I was about 10 I found a conker that had sprouted and I planted it in the garden. Fast forward a few years (and a few more) a few house moves and it’s growing in our garden larger than life. So if you want to grow conker trees with your kids here’s how to do it - 1. Collect conkers 2. Place them in a bowl of water tans make sure they all sink. 3. Place them in an air tight container with a piece of kitchen roll at the bottom. 4. Dampen the kitchen roll with water.5. Place another price of kitchen roll on top and pop the lid on. 6. Place in the fridge for 2 - 3 months. 7. Once sprouted plant them in a pot of soil and keep watered. Our boys loved doing this and I hope you do too. Save this post so it’s to hand when you next collect conkers. #conkers #outdoors #growyourown #conkertree #outdooractivitieswithkids #familytime #screenfree #homeschooling #parenthack #craigduckie #glamping #gorural

Lambing time!
For those of you who are looking to get in on the ‘live lambing’ action at Criagduckie Shepherds Huts this year we would suggest booking your stay between the following dates:
28th Feb - 10th Mar 2024
&
29th Mar - 30th Apr 2024
With approximately 1500 expectant sheep there will be lots of lambs - we just need you all to keep your fingers crossed for some dry weather.
We have had a busy weekend pregnancy scanning our ewes (mummy sheep). Each ewe is scanned so we know exactly how many lambs she will be having. This is really important so we can ration their feeding depending on how many lambs they are having. We feed the triplet mums more than the single mums so that the single lamb doesn’t get too much and end up too big which would mean a difficult birth for mum and also so the triplet mum gets enough to grow all three of her lambs. Its now time to get organised for lambing - they will be here before we know it.Are you excited?
Welcome to Craigduckie Shepherds Huts!Where you can escape everyday life, get back to nature and explore the countryside - making memories that will last a lifetime. We cant wait to meet you and show you around.
Are you looking forward to spring?I can’t wait for warmer days, lighter nights, greener grass and of course baby lambs! What’s not to love.Let us know in the comments what you are looking forward to most.#springiscoming #lambs

Meet Jenny!
The latest member of the family. Saying that Jenny has been part of the family coming up 20 years. Mum and I bought her as a yearling and backed her (taught her about having a rider and what to do).
She has always lived with my mum until she recently moved to Craigduckie. She has settled in really well and has even met the sheep! They weren’t very sure what to make of her at first but she absolutely loved rounding them up.
She has loved meeting all our guests and loves carrots, apples and polos if you want to bring her a wee treat 🤣.
