The Town Ranger Service set up by the Town Council doing all those jobs that we all often walk or dri This service is exlusive to the town centre.

The Town Ranger Services set up by the Town Council in 2012 is out and about in Dunstable doing all those little jobs that we all often walk or drive past thinking ’why does somebody not clean that up or sort that out’. In 2016 a new Town Centre Ranger was introduced from the Town Centre Regeneration Fund. The introduction of the Town Ranger services will allow the Town Council to respond quickly

and effectively to tackle environmental eyesores around the town. This service will help to make Dunstable a better place to live, work and visit. The Town Ranger is equipped with a wide range of tools including a high power pressure washer, a litter vacuum, a strimmer and many other useful implements so that he can carry out a wide range of works and repairs across public areas. New for 2017 the Town Centre Ranger has a new street sweeper/washer also a new jet wash system which is used for removing graffiti, cleaning paths and any grot spots. He also has a Kubota buggy, which he uses for picking up any fly tipping and carrying equipment. Dunstable South ward:

This week the rangers have been focusing on tidying the entrance to Dunstable by litter picking, sweeping and cutting back shrubbery blocking footpaths.
We've also reported various flytipping around the whole ward.

Recently the ranger service has focused on improving the cycle route between Creasey Park and French's Avenue...
Following complaints that the path was very overgrown and littered, we liased with Central Bedfordshire Council to cut back the vegetation.
Following on from that, we then litter picked the route and tidied the French's Avenue entrance.

This week the Town Rangers have been very busy pressure washing all of the tarmac playground surfaces in Bennetts Recreation Ground.
A large amount of moss was removed and now the area looks like new again. 🚿👍

One of the main jobs has been cleaning the bus shelters.

Throughout this week the Town Ranger team have had the big task of cleaning the block paving pathways around priory Gardens.
This involved removing any weeds/grass growing between the joints, pressure washing the surface and re-sanding the area.

This included jet washing the paving, walls, benches & bins.
