I went to visit this yesterday and my boys were amazed not only at the moon but also with the cathedral in general 🤩

So lucky having this on our doorstep…always worth a visit.

What an incredible sight! The Museum of the Moon art installation can be seen every day in Durham Cathedral until 11th November. 🌑🌙

This lovely little place is literally a 2 minute walk from us 🍻

Change over day today so I’ve got my boys occupied in the garden while I do some of my jobs 💪🏻 We had a lovely review from last nights guests saying their children loved playing in the garden and I’ve got to say my boys probably prefer it to their own garden...

We have had a booking this week all the way from America for someone who is coming to see a singer from California who is performing here. I didn’t actually know how much went one in the Laundrette so thought it was worth a share.... We are situated just a few minutes walk from here so nice and easy to get home after a few 🍻🍻

Hello and welcome to Welly Jam House 🤗

Having always enjoyed a weekend break away, after having two boys it became a little harder to find somewhere suitable to stay as a family!

Hotel rooms were a no go as there just wasn’t enough space for us and all of the extra items needed to take with us for the kids. So we began staying in holiday let’s, which although were so much better they weren’t always catered towards families and young children.

That’s when we decided to open our very own holiday home that was tailored towards family stays with the aim of making staycations and mini-breaks more enjoyable for both parents and children....After a lot of hard work and careful planning, in January 2021 we achieved our goal of opening Welly Jam House!

We are so pleased we can now eventually open our diaries for bookings from 12th April for single household stays and then from the 17th May for multi household stays.

The property is a mid terraced 2 bedroom house built in 1875, which has a modern feel but still oozes character. There is an enclosed private garden to the rear of the property which you don’t expect upon entry...abit of our very own secret garden!

We are a 15 minute walk from Durham city centre or less than a 5 minute drive. We are also on a main bus route and close to local amenities.

We can cater for one night or longer stays upon request, subject to availability.

We are look forward to welcoming you (and your little ones!) and hope our facilities will take some of the stress and hassle out of your stay in Durham.
