🎄 Christmas 2024 is now complete 🎄

Just a couple of days off for the team for the festivities before we are back at it with Rail Replacement services.

We started our Christmas season in early November with trips to festive markets followed by our biggest project to date!!

We had the honour of providing a fully managed transport service on behalf of The Customs House for their 2024 production of "Mother Goose" - this logistical challenge moved over 4,500 passengers over 3 weeks from primary schools around the north east to South Shields.

A massive thank you to the whole 626 family along with our partners for their support and professionalism to help make this project as success.

It’s Panto Time!! Oh Yes It is!!

The start of 3 weeks of Pantomime movements with over 4500 primary school students to move in that time….

This year it’s Mother Goose which runs from 21st November through 5th January.

We’re looking for flexible, reliable coach drivers to join our family.

We have a fantastic team and are looking to strengthen it to help us cope with our increased workload.

Our drivers enjoy a mix of work, mainly Private Coach Hire for Schools and Local Groups, along with pre-planned & Emergency Rail Replacement, Home to School Transport work and occasional UK Touring work which we are hoping to develop further in 2025.

We’re a strong and close knit team who are passionate about coach hire, we won’t ask our drivers to do anything that we wouldn’t do ourselves.

This position requires the holder to possess a Category D (Full PSV) entitlement and Driver Qualification Card (to evidence CPC training) and already hold or ability to obtain a DBS check for school work. Ideally, applicants will be over 30 years & minimum of 2yrs experience – however this can be addressed on a individual basis.

We can offer guaranteed hours to suit for full time roles in addition to part time & casual roles – all hours are paid from start to finish (so no deductions).

We offer a competitive hourly rate of pay, Workplace pension scheme, uniform and a friendly atmosphere.

As a coach operator you don’t get many opportunities to take photos of your coaches in front of Durham Cathedral as there is a restriction in place for this size of vehicle in Saddler Street in Durham, but 626 have been granted a special permit to deliver the military wives and girlfriends choir from Catterick who are singing in the festival of remembrance this evening…. ‘Lest we forget’

We will also be observing a 2 minute silence on Monday 11th in honour of those who fell for our country.

At 626 we don’t just offer coach travel we are also a driver training provider for HGV and PSV as well as operating a fleet of HGV’s…..

Today our driver & trainer Colin passed his category D+E following 2 days in house training with another member of our driver training team which now means he can tow a trailer on a coach or minibus, Well done Colin!! 🥳 🍾

This weekend saw our entire fleet in Northumberland performing a park and ride shuttle service for the Kielder Marathon moving over 10,000 people throughout the entire weekend!

‘Ere we ave’ our latest arrival….. The boys have been on tidying her up a little before she hits the road…. yeah ok she isn’t pretty she’s a Levante but has been purchased to serve a purpose and to ensure we are able to keep up with upcoming changes in the PSVAR legislation taking our fleet to 7 vehicles 16-59 seats.

has been dealt a devastating blow today….. this morning we discovered our yard had been broken into and approximately 2000 litres of diesel had been stolen from our Coaches and Trucks along with several hundreds of pounds of damage to 3 vehicles….. our team worked hard to ensure we still managed to pick up the pieces and move over 400 people on their tours day trips and school trips…

We do still have some availability for the upcoming weeks until the schools finish….

BSZ626 driven by James has been to Binchester Fort, YJZ626 has been to Roker Seafront with Alan, along with VHZ doing multiple jobs with Andy and Kev in the 16 seater hiding at Bishop Auckland, whilst PXZ626 has been on a school contract….. something out of the ordinary for us but as we have a team of DBS checked drivers we’re ready for anything!
