🚶‍♂️ The gorgeous Sraton Sluice, a 4 mile peaceful walk from the cottage door and through Holywell Dene. You don’t even need to cross a road until you get to the beach which is dog friendly all year round 🐕🩺

🏖We are so lucky to have this beach just 10 minutes away! Especially on a day like today!

Whitley Bay beach has been named the 2nd most instagrammable beach in the U.K. in a recent study coming in just behind Brighton 🏖🌊

Researchers analysed over 1,400 beaches to find the number of times they’ve been hashtagged and Whitley Bay with 276,605 was second.

Great news for our gorgeous little coastal town.

🚶‍♀️ A great map from the National Trust, starting from the fabulous Delaval Hall. From the cottage which is at the bottom of the map on the left at Westfield, you can join the route from point 6 just by walking from the door! A beautiful walk through Holywell Dene and perfect for dogs!

The Delaval family was granted land in south east Northumberland at the end of the 11th century. The family name changed in 1814 when the estate passed through the female line to Sir Jacob Astley.
