🌷🌿☀️ The weekend saw us welcome first time ‘podders’. We had guests from 3 hours away and guests from 30 minutes away. Whilst here, they had rain 🌧️ , they had sun☀️, it was cold 🥶 and it was hot 🥵 , and we are pleased to say both couples had a lovely time here at The Paddock Pods at Homeland and are looking forward to returning.
For many people a ‘getaway’ is exactly that, just somewhere and something different to every day life and you don’t always have to travel miles to find it.

Prices start from £270 based on a 2 night stay, our prices include all bedding, towels, bathrobes and sufficient wood for the hot tub. We also include lots of little extras including complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate, a basket of logs for the fire pit.

We had to share this post from The Pumpkin Patch At Bewholme, as we really are incredibly lucky to have amazing parents who are always on hand to help! When dad is not helping at The Pumpkin Patch, or doing his own work, or babysitting and doing nursery drop offs, or mucking horses out etc etc etc, he is in charge of grass cutting here at The Paddock Pods at Homeland (mainly because he won’t let anyone else do it 🤣) and doing any joinery oriented jobs that are required at the pods.

Meet Mike AKA Dad! Although you may not have spotted Mike during our busy days (he’s the strong silent type 🤣) he is and always has been a crucial and irreplaceable piece of The Pumpkin Patch family. 🧡From the first pumpkins being planted 14 years ago, Mike has been there keeping Farmer Jason right and is always the first to help when a job needs doing. 🚜 Between being chief planter driver & pumpkin picker, Mike is definitely in no danger of retiring yet! 🎃🧡

Both of our pods sleep 2 adults, with en-suite shower/toilet, kitchenette with hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle/toaster, all pots & pans supplied. Underfloor heating, tv/dvd player, outdoor seating areas, bbq 🍗 fire pit 🔥 and wood fuelled hot tubs.

Located in the village of Bewholme, Between Hornsea and Beverley in East Yorkshire.

Who else got to see The Northern lights last night??
We did purely by chance as we had been asleep completely unaware of the beautiful spectacle in the sky, until something disturbed the 🐶 and I got up to check on her.
This was our view at 2am this morning 😍

We are extremely fortunate to have great family support, who we can call on when needed, which is definitely a key ingredient to running a successful business.

This weeks shoutout is to our cleaning crew 🆘 emergency member Debbie aka ‘Mrs Mop’, I think you’ll agree she certainly looked ready and raring too go!! 😀

Don’t worry, here at The Paddock Pods at Homeland, we’ve got you covered….. literally!

Did you know both of our pods have underfloor heating, to keep you lovely 🥰 and warm on those cold 🥶 days.

Raining outside?… no problem, we have a selection of games♟️🎲 and 📀 dvds to keep you entertained whilst the 🌧️ passes.

We supply umbrellas 🌂 so no need to get wet whilst heading out.

We have recently added a polycarbonate roof to the seating area at Willow and will continue to improve both outdoor areas.

Contrary to tv 📺 ads images, going glamping doesn’t mean you get muddy! (Unless of course you want too) our parking area, paths and outdoor garden areas are gravel covered with stepping stones around the pods.

Looking for inspiration 💡, here’s a few of our ideas-

🍇🍷- visit a vineyard, you don’t have to head to France 🇫🇷 or further afield to experience this, we have them right here in East Yorkshire and we recommend a visit to Laurel Vines Vineyard and Winery

Cow cuddling and safari-yes this absolutely is a thing! Located just up the road from Laurel Vines, Dumble Farm Highland Cows is the place you need to be.

Paddle boarding- This is something we tried for the first time last year and we thoroughly enjoyed it, check out East Yorkshire sup for dates 📆 and locations 🗺️

Seal 🦭 spotting, another first for us earlier this year, visit Flamborough Head Lighthouse for a very good chance of seeing these beautiful creatures.

RSPB Bempton Cliffs Puffin and Gannet cruises are extremely popular and early booking is essential, it’s a great way to combine being out on the sea 🌊 with viewing the stunning Yorkshire coastline from a different angle and getting to see these beautiful birds.

If being up in the sky 🌌 is on your list, why not book
A trial flight in a light aircraft 🛩️ Beverley Airfield.

Beverley Minster ⛪️ roof top tour, take the 113 steps to the rafters of the Minster, where you will be able to take in the views through the wheel windows.

Stay in a different type of accommodation and experience a wood fuelled hot tub 🛁, then of course we recommend a stay here at The Paddock Pods at Homeland.

To brighten up another dull day

Pod- windows 🪟 cleaned every change over
Home -🏡 in reality lucky if it’s twice a year (outside) 🙈

Pod- full new toilet 🚽 rolls every changeover
Home-🏡 part toilet rolls 🧻from pods 😂 I think all accommodation owners, bathrooms have baskets 🧺 of part rolls 😂

Pod- Frying pan 🍳 starts to stick on the bottom…. Get a new one!
Home- 🏡 Just soak it a bit longer and scrub it a bit harder when cleaning it and it’ll do for a while longer!

Pod- Go shopping, see something lovely…. “Yes we’ll get that it’ll look lovely down at the pods”
Home- 🏡 “ooh that looks really nice, it would look lovely in (wherever), but we don’t really need it so won’t get it”

Pod- lovely matching cups☕️
Home-🏡 a cupboard full of odd cups as we seem to inherit the ones that become odd from the pods if one gets broken, but wouldn’t throw out a perfectly good cup!

Pod- bedding 🛏️ ironed of course
Home-🏡 what is an iron???? The creases will drop out on the washing line anyway.

I could probably go on all day 🙈, but I think the reality and hidden meaning of it all is, we absolutely put our heart ♥️ and soul into the pods, to make sure our guests have the best possible stay that we can provide

This weekend we welcomed first time guests Tracey & Mark to Bracken pod and returning guests Carolyn & Mark to Willow pod and we couldn’t be any happier with the lovely feedback that we received from both couples! We are so pleased you have all enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend here at The Paddock Pods at Homeland and we can’t wait to welcome you back again.
We never expect to receive any gifts from our guests, but when we do we always feel rather overwhelmed and extremely proud. Thank you Mark & Carolyn for the chocolates and plant, such a lovely gesture and very much appreciated 🥰

Make sure to put a visit to Burnby Hall Gardens on your to do list whilst staying with us here at The Paddock Pods at Homeland.

Whilst out that way, we’d also recommend calling in to Shiptonthorpe Milk Shed to pick up a bottle or 2 of farm fresh milk 🥛, ideal for those hot chocolates ☕️ round the fire 🔥 pit, or on your cereals 🥣

Do you like exploring?? Escape rooms and interactive games??? Then you really need to check out CityDays.
We are yet to give this a go ourselves, but have been highly recommended this by our friends (thank you Holly for letting us use their photos)
Our nearest location is York, many of our guests have enjoyed days out in the city and we think taking part in one of these games will make your day out even more memorable.
If you’re looking for a fun interactive challenge, in a stunning city with so much to see and explore then this is the perfect day out for you, before returning to The Paddock Pods at Homeland for a relaxing evening.

We always recommend parking at Grimston Bar park and ride when heading into York, it is easy to get to from us and takes the hassle out of trying to find parking in the city centre.

Another new 🍳 frying is on the shopping 🛒 list …. I hadn’t realised when we got a new one recently, that it meant you couldn’t fit 2 pans on the ring as it’s bigger than the other 🙈, but we are pleased guests point these things out as we try to make guests stays as perfect as we can 😊

📌📌NOTICE 📌📌

Me and Neil are going on holiday, 🙌 we are so excited as it has been soooooo long! And very much needed.

Don’t worry, whilst we are away, we’re leaving you all in good hands….

Toby will be on meet and greet and all booking enquiries…. Please note arrival dates will be restricted during this time as Toby has nursery on Tuesday & Thursdays.

Brooke will be ensuring the pods are clean and ready for your arrival…. See earlier reel of her in training! Apologies in advance though if bedding isn’t ironed 🙈 after scorching the carpet on a previous attempt.. she’s banned! It will be clean though!

Jakub will be on hand for any assistance with heating hot tubs etc, but please note his bedtime is 8.30, so will be unavailable after this time.

Anyway happy 1st of April to you all ☺️…. If only the holiday wasn’t just a dream 🙈xx

🌼🌼🌼🌼 SPRING HAS SPRUNG 🌼🌼🌼🌼

Okay, we may well be a day early with this (which to be honest, is a rarity as I’m usually known for being late 🙈) but spring is definitely in the air here at The Paddock Pods…

The ☀️ is out, it’s quite warm too!! Definitely a day for sitting outside and enjoying some quiet time.

The grass is cut, there’s nothing like that scent of fresh cut grass to say spring is here!

The daffodils 🌼 have been out awhile now , brightning everywhere with their lovely shades of yellow.

The birds 🐦‍⬛are singing and the hedges are turning green.

How would you be spending your time here??……
Relaxing in one of the outdoor seats with a book 📕
Playing one of the games provided in the pods…. Having a bbq and eating alfresco….. exploring the local area, and heading off for a walk…. Soaking in the tub….toasting marshmallows round the fire pit…..

👀👀👀👀Looking to try something new this year???? 👀👀👀👀👀

Why not book a paddle boarding session with East Yorkshire SUP whilst staying with us at The Paddock Pods at Homeland.

We tried paddle boarding for the first time last year and absolutely loved it, and we’ll definitely be booking some lessons this year!

We're starting our lessons on Saturday 27th April at Baswick Landing on the River Hull near to Leven.

Our group sessions are available for anyone to join, no experience is needed. Lessons are bookable online through our website. We teach small groups giving you personal instruction and plenty of time to practice. Don't worry about coming on your own, most people do, which is why last year these were our most popular sessions. Lessons last for 2 hours, boards, paddles and buoyancy aids included. Just £30.

If you wanted to come with a group of family , friends or on your own for a private lesson, you can book a session to suit. Kids aged 8+ can join you, providing they can swim. You can add others later and we will tailor to sessions for you. These can be for beginners, or for those more experienced who want to learn something new. The choice is yours. Sessions are 90 minutes, prices starting from just £50.
