β€œThank you so much for last year’s Christmas Meal Appeal; it was really successful, as we fed so many children. In our community, most children come from humble backgrounds, and most of their families cannot afford Christmas. But here at school, when the children come together for Christmas, they are really happy and appreciate what we are doing in their lives. They feel like somebody cares, and we are grateful for that. Thank you for putting a smile on our children’s faces.” Valentine, Headteacher at West End Academy.

Help us make this our biggest Christmas Meal Appeal yet. Please donate here https://buff.ly/40lAI5e.

This autumn, saw our biggest October programme to date, with Club Charity Organisations, school students and girlguides travelling to Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar to help our partner schools achieve their goals.

From the construction of a STEM Lab, IT suite and a library to sports days and teaching music lessons, our volunteers left their mark.

Read about everything they achieved in our latest blog post here https://buff.ly/3OeKejb

Evan embraced the fundraising part of his journey, raising his trip cost plus more through tombolas on his local market stall and indoor markets at a local residential home. He was gifted tombola prizes from his local community, family and friends and help from his Judo Club.

With the extra money raised, Evan filled a suitcase with books, pens, pencils, colouring books, t-shirts and judo equipment from his Judo Club.

Evan volunteered at Andy Star Academy and led sports coaching sessions with the students.

Students at St Trizah took a tour of the English countryside with a virtual reality headset a volunteer brought with them.

We organise the core work that our volunteer groups carry out at our partner schools, but time and again, our volunteers go above and beyond to make as much of an impact as they can to students' lives.

Many of the students who attend our partner schools come from families who cannot afford to put food on the table, and their children go to school on an empty stomach. The impact of your donation to our Christmas Meal Appeal is far greater than just providing a plate of food.

We spoke to our Trip Hosts, students at our partner schools and their teachers to find out what our Christmas Meal Appeal means to them in our latest blog, which you can read here: https://buff.ly/40td0Eh.

Dan, our CEO and Dave, our COO, met with Tanzania's High Commissioner to the UK, Mbelwa Kairuki, in London last month.

They discussed ways to further strengthen the partnership between African Adventures and Zanzibar's Ministry of Education, which will help maximise our programmes' impact for both our partner schools and our volunteers.

Planning is already well underway for our biggest programme in Zanzibar for 2025, and we are excited for the work that lies ahead.
