Observatory House features a variety of commissions from artists who have previously been involved with Collective, including Rachel Adams.

Rachel Adams is an artist based in Glasgow, exploring the forms of furniture, sculpture and decorative craft.

Rachel created ‘Begonias’ light features, and a tie-dye ceiling work (‘Dome’), which give our Astronomer’s Suite a unique and inspiring look.

Lazell goes on to say that ‘being here after dark is a dizzyingly lone, privileged treat’, and that ‘no view could trump this’.

How many Edinburgh landmarks can you spot through our windows? Observatory House and Apartment offer unparalleled views of the city - the perfect place from which to watch the sun rise or set.

The views from Calton Hill and Observatory House have been admired for centuries: in 1775, Robert Barker painted the world’s first panorama from the top of the Gothic Tower, the oldest part of the house.

Cook up a storm in our artist-designed kitchen in Observatory House. Echoing the neo-classical surroundings of Calton Hill, the unique Valchromat and granite units were designed by Thomas Aitchison to reflect the National Monument which can be seen from the kitchen window.

The high-end appliances in the kitchen also reflect our passion for design, so there’s no need to compromise on style when preparing a feast for the dining room.
