Machu Picchu — Full Day Tour from Cusco.

This is a brief overview of a full-day tour of a place that should be on everyone’s bucket list -
Machu Picchu. I was picked up from my hotel early in the morning (0500hrs) and driven from
Cusco to Ollantaytambo Station Train Station through stunning scenery, this took approximately
2 hours, we then boarded the Inca Rail— The 360 Degree Machu Picchu Train for the magical
train journey to Aguas Calientes, also known as "Machu Picchu Pueblo’, the last stop before the
entrance to the Machu Picchu citadel. This scenic train journey takes approximately one hour
and forty-five minutes. Once I arrived at Aguas Calientes | was met by my local guide who
assisted me in boarding the bus for the 30-minute journey to the archaeological complex. |
enjoyed a fascinating guided tour of the marvellous citadel, an awe-inspiring experience where
my guide explained the different areas of interest and theories behind Machu Picchu. The tour
lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes, the whole experience was mind-blowing. Once the tour was
completed and | had taken hundreds of photos I was transported back down the mountain by
bus to Machu Picchu Pueblo where | enjoyed a spot of lunch at one of the restaurants in town
which was included in the tour. | was on the Full Day Tour from Cusco, there is also a Day Tour
where you can stay at a hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), You can then check
into your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure before another day at Machu Picchu.

| have been lucky to have visited some of the world’s most iconic sights, this ranks in the top 3, if
not the best.

Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Cultural site, is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World
and Peru's undoubted highlight. The citadel of Machu Picchu can be accessed by foot, hiking
along the famous Inca Trail or from Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), where it's a short
bus ride up to the citadel or a steep climb up steps. Aguas Calientes is a small town, developed
for visitors to Machu Picchu and has a range of hotels, bars, restaurants and shops. The town's
name means "hot waters" after the nearby thermal springs, which are well worth a visit for a
rejuvenating soak especially if you've been hiking the Inca Trail or up to Huayna Picchu
mountain.

The return rail journey from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo was, again, stunning as it hugs
the river through the valley floor, there is an open / viewing carriage on the train for photo
opportunities and live music, a fantastic experience after a magical day.

Finally, the bus back to Cusco to complete the perfect day.

I was allowed privelage access to the owners residence suite.
This was truly mind blowing at the size, quality and the views from the wrap around terrace with its own infinity pool and hot tub.

All the suites also come with a Dyson hairdryer and all the attachments.

Day exploring the Island by train. The only Caribbean island with a trainline!.
The Atlantic side is very windy with rough seas and black volcanic sand while the Caribbean side is lovely and calm with white sand but great to explore nonetheless.

Back on board and it was dinner at the Med Yachtclub. Tapas and Mediterranean inspired dishes.

As to any guest's on board the four specialty restaurants are included in the cost.
You also have the
option to pay a supplement for the tasting menu in Anthology which has a French tasting menu.

Yesterday's visit to St.Pierre Martinique. Small town and rich in history.

Back on board for lunch at the Japanese restaurant Sakura. Outstanding.

Dinner on the ship was at the French restaurant Fil Rouge which again is one of the included speciality dining options.

Today we are in St.Kitts &Nevis for a fun packed day.
