What a magical moment @highlandexplorerpaul captured on his recent tour!
Volunteering on The Isle of Skye
Throwback to when @foodngems took part in our 5-Day Volunteer Tour last October, here’s what she thought:
“One of the best experiences in Isle of Skye is through 5-Day Wild Skye Volunteer Adventure with HAGGiS Adventures, working closely with Tormore Community Forest and Sleat Community Trust to encourage the flourishing of natural rainforests on the island. How? This is what we did:
✅ Plant native Scottish trees like oak trees!
This helps with reestablishing the natural landscape of the island and encourages more Scottish plants and trees to grow in time
✅ Eliminate invasive plant species!
It balances out the ecosystem of the Tormore forest. We cut down the Christmas trees, which are trees that easily spread across lands, and thorny brambles that would grow over forest pathways
✅ Clearing waste materials!
We helped clear waste materials like rolls of old wires that were left behind by past landowners, to be salvaged and reused for something else in the future
✅ Building forest pathways!
We manually transported gravel to different pathways in the forest to create clearer and safer routes for travelling around the forest
✅ Paving the entrance!
We worked together to make the entrance cleaner by removing weeds, brambles, and old soil, which then allows for a better parking space for visitors and volunteers. It also makes the entrance look more welcoming and better!”

Nothing says Scotland like the sound of the bagpipes 🎶 Happy International Bagpipe Day!
Happy World Gaelic Week 🏴
On our 5-Day Volunteer Tour, we visit the Gaelic College on the Isle of Skye and learn some phrases in this Scottish language!
It’s no wonder that this castle is the most photographed one in Scotland...

Happy International Charity Day!
Our crew spent their #GiveBackDay at Leadburn Community Woodland, helping remove invasive rhododendrons and restore peatlands - one of our planet’s top carbon-capturing heroes. A day filled with teamwork, learning, and positive impact! 🌲
