Festive Closing!

Our staff and volunteers have worked really hard this year to ensure your refreshment needs are always met when you come to our visitor centre

To show our appreciation of that work, we will be closing the centre and letting everyone take some time off over Christmas.

We're open 10am to 4pm up to and including Sunday 22nd.

We will then be closed from Monday 23rd and will reopen at 10am on Saturday 4th January!

Thank you so much for your custom this year and we look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year!

So while the weather maybe frightful tomorrow we can promise it will be delightful at our Christmas Fayre at the Visitor Centre from 11am to 2pm. We have a room full of natural crafts inc wreath making, decorations and cards; wonderful baked festive treats; bottle tombola, lucky dip and hamper raffle, a tables full of wildlife themed, eco and sustainable gifts, books, calendar, children's toys, cards, beeswax goodie and so much more. Come and join in the fun and help raise money to support our work improving and protecting Edinburgh's River

Ian Graham, proprietor of Colinton Clocks returns once more to the Visitor Centre with his Mesmerising Mechanisms Exhibition.
Saturday 12th October, 10am-4pm, free entry (no booking required)
The exhibition features wooden machines he designed and built himself ranging from mechanical clocks to interesting and amusing ball runners, drawing machines and automata.
The exhibition is hands on, allowing you to explore the gears, levers and mechanisms that set the machines in motion.

We're trialing weekday cakes this week. We've got a great selection frm Bonnie Bakes. Scones are selling fast!

There's also vegan lemon drizzle, gluten free banana loaf, chocolate cake and raspberry ruffle (a raspberry and coconut tray bake)
