We were privileged to meet the maestro of rum Nelson Hernandez, master distiller for Diplomatico, who flew from Venezuela to Edinburgh recently for an event and dropped by the Thistle Street Bar with Edinburgh-based Diplomatico brand ambassador Plato Moysiadis.
What Nelson doesn’t know about rum isn’t worth knowing. Sláinte 🥃

A few years ago Alas De Liona walked into the Thistle, had a glass of red wine, borrowed Ciaran McGhee’s guitar and sang this song. Her voice and songwriting completely blew us away. Now she’s reworked it and added it to her upcoming new album Gravity of Gold. If you want to see her perform live with her full band Alas will be appearing at Cabaret Voltaire on Sep 9th @7:30.
