We were delighted to host five teams last week for the World Championship Predator Lure 2024 which took place on Upper Lough Erne. Check out the video below which shows the competition kicking off one of the mornings it was on.
There where 15 teams from all over the world at this competition which was held at Share Discovery Village. Here at Fermanagh Lodges we hosted Austria 🇦🇹, Romania 🇷🇴, Poland 🇵🇱, Hungary 🇭🇺 and Latvia 🇱🇻 in our accommodation and marina.
Loads of fish where caught over three days of competition and Lithuania 🇱🇹 finished first, Latvia 🇱🇻 came second, and the Irish 🇮🇪 team came third! 🎉 The largest pike of the competition was caught by Team USA 🇺🇸 - see the photo in the comments for this 1m20 monster pike! 🦈🦈🦈
Thanks to all the organisers who made this unique and highly competitive event possible, it is great to see top level fishing occurring on Upper Lough Erne!

Fermanagh Lodge's Favourite: Marble Arch Caves 🌿☀🌄
We recently attended a lovely event in the Marble Arch Caves where Caritas, a local choir from Enniskillen, provided music in the Caves - check out the video clip 📲
Located just 20 minutes drive from our self catering accommodation, the Marble Arch Caves are a unique show cave where you can head underground to hear about the unique geology of the Fermanagh landscape, and take a boat trip underground!
Open all year round, the Marble Arch Caves are a part of the @Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark and a great visit for all the family, especially in the Autumn time. There is a café and gift shop too, and they also offer above-ground experiences and activities.

Cycling breaks this Summer and Autumn at Fermanagh Lodges! 🚲☀️
Co. Fermanagh is a great place for a cycling break this year. Why not book a visit to Upper Lough Erne and explore some of the counties great cycle routes!
🚲 Our personal favourite, a cycle to Crom Estate 🌿 The cycle from Fermanagh Lodges to Crom Estate is just shy of 20km (there and back) and follows winding, quiet back roads, with views of Upper Lough Erne. It is a part of the Kingfisher Cycle Trail. PLUS there is a great coffee shop at Crom Estate (a National Trust Fermanagh property) perfect for a big slice of cake 🍰

🚲Castle Archdale Forest Park 🌳 Located approx. 30 minute drive from Fermanagh Lodges, Castle Archdale offers great off road cycling for all ages. There is a mature woodland, which can be seen in the video on this post, with some absolutely huge trees to be found whilst pedalling along the edge of the lake. There are lots of route options here, so you can get something to suit all abilities.

🚲 The Scarplands Trail (which is the LONGEST gravel cycle trail on the island of Ireland). Kicking off in Belcoo (which is just 20 minutes drive from Fermanagh Lodges) this trail offers over 100km of gravel trail perfect for biking enthusiasts. There are also a number of shorter loops too, with our favourite being Ballintempo Forest.
