It's fascinating talking to the craftsment and experts we have on site. They are bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our corner of Evesham.
From Monday you'll see some activity at the Almonry as we start our in depth investigations of the building. We've got experts from all over the country coming to see our beautiful building and to assess its condition. Stay posted as we'll keep you updated on what's happening and hopefully some sneaky photos of previously unseen parts of the building (probably dusty and cobweb laden roof spaces!) What do you think we might find?
The Almonry team are celebrating after securing £50,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and £16,000 from Historic England to fund essential surveys, investigations and reports to support a large repair and restoration project. The surveys are planned for the week commending 19th February.

3d scan of the statue of Eof.
The statue was erected as a result of a vote by the local community and is the work of renowned sculptor John McKenna.
It is the result of several years tireless campaigning and fundraising either by direct donation or events, but all of it from local people. It was unveiled on Sunday 15th June 2008.
The statue stands on a plinth made from stone from the original abbey that stood in Evesham from the 8th Century until its closure in 1539. The pieces were donated by readers of the Cotswold and Vale magazine.
For more information on the story of Eof, visit us at the Almonry.
We have some beautiful glassware in 'The Little Shop at The Almonry' made by The Art Pad in Offenham. https://www.theartpad.co.uk/news Priced at between £5 and £12 they make a lovely gift with a difference.
