Start your day the right way!

First thing in the morning is one of the best times to go for a paddle.

Usually flat calm and super clear – your paddle will be the only thing making a ripple in the water - other than the occasional sea turtle!

If you're staying in our Villas, or at our Beach Clubs, you can use our stand up paddle boards as much as you wish 😊

👋🏼 Hi Hugo!

💬 My name is Hugo Taylor and I am the Club Manager for Lixouri Bay Beach Club.

The most enjoyable part of working in Greece for me is experiencing the local culture and the peaceful way of life amongst Mother Nature.

A highlight of our club for me is playing volleyball on the private beach surrounded by mountain views as the sun goes down each day.

My favourite past times in Kefalonia are windsurfing and exploring the local area.

In the winter months I work as a snowboard guide and events manager across the alps, but I am very much looking forward to the summer of 2025 at the club with the team🇬🇷

🙋🏼‍♀️ What was your role this summer?
I was a sailing and windsurfing instructor.

🙋🏼‍♀️ What is your favourite thing about working in Greece?
The weather! Commuting to work along a beautiful sunny beach in Greece isn't a bad start to the day. I loving making friends who all have the same interests and being able to use the water sports kit regularly on a daily basis.

🙋🏼‍♀️ What is your favourite thing about your job role?
My favourite thing is being able to teach a variety of sessions from a beginner sailing session where I am ensuring a guest feels comfortable -potentially trying sailing for the first time, to teaching intermediate sailing with spinnakers, or teaching an RYA level 1-4. I love the variation of my job role.

🙋🏼‍♀️ What is your top tip for visiting Evia?
To go on plenty of walks and bike rides around the town, there are so many absolutely stunning spots and some are hidden! Also try as many gyros places as possible as they all taste amazing and you will miss them when you go home.

🙋🏼‍♀️ What is your best memory of the season?
I have so many, but the main one is being hooked into a harness on a catamaran flying along with the back drop off the Greek mountains and the clearest blue water.

🙋🏼‍♀️ What is your favourite Greek food?
I absolutely love a Gyros!

🙋🏼‍♀️ What do you do in the winter?
My aim for the winter is to travel and explore as much of the world as possible and spend time with my family and friends before the next season begins.

🙋🏼‍♀️ What is your favourite day-off activity?
I enjoy heading down to centre and taking out some kit and going for a blast, or I walk into town with my fishing rod and go fishing for the day at the port.

🙋🏼‍♀️ How did you end up working for us in Greece?
I was working in the UK teaching sailing in the rain and I refused to do it any longer! When I went on my senior instructor course middle of last year I met members of staff that worked in Nea Styra, they were talking to me about it and I instantly applied.

🙋🏼‍♀️ What is your goal for next summer?
To catch a fish that is over 3 inches and to be able to wing foil without falling in!

Live onboard a yacht for the summer and enjoy sailing from port to port with friends and guests.

You will have a passion for sailing and have the ability to live and work in a small team.
You will be responsible for a small fleet of yachts, ensuring all standards are maintained to the highest level. Your main day to day tasks will include a combination of maintenance checks and hosting tasks.

💬 Hey!
My name is Polly Rogers and I worked at Stira Bay Beach Club in Evia this summer!

I've worked for BeyondBeach for 2 seasons in Lixouri Bay, and Paliki aswell.
Before working for BeyondBeach, I taught sailing at my club in Ireland, but I wanted to work abroad - so after an online search I found BeyondBeach and got the job!

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your favourite thing about working in Greece?
💬 My favourite thing about working in Greece is teaching the sports I love in such a beautiful setting! (The tan is a bonus too!)

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your favourite Greek food?
💬 My go to order in any taverna is honey baked feta with a side of fried corgette and some spicy cheese dip! You can't go wrong with a veggie gyros either!

🙋🏽‍♀️ What do you do in the winter?
💬 This winter I've just stared my first year of a BA in Drama and Film in University College Dublin.

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your favourite day-off activity?
💬 My favourite day off activity while working on season is to explore! Be that a trip to Athens to explore the flea market while working in Evia, or a ferry to Argostoli while in Kef!

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your goal for next summer?
💬 My goal for the next season is to progress my windsurfing and learn some cool new tricks!

💬 This summer I was a windsurf instructor.

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your favourite thing about working in Greece?
💬 My favourite thing about working in Greece was how lovely and welcoming the Greek families were.

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your favourite thing about your specific job role?
💬 My favourite thing about being a windsurf instructor was getting to teach a sport I love in such a beautiful location with warm water.

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your top tip for visiting Lixouri?
💬 My top tip is to eat as much gyros as you possibly can (it tastes better in Greece)!

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your best memory of the season?
💬 One of my favourite memories was taking a catamaran out with the team on our day off.

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your favourite Greek food?
💬 Definitely gyros!

🙋🏽‍♀️ What do you do in the winter?
💬 In winter I teach gymnastics and I study photography.

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your favourite day-off activity?
💬 On my day off I love either going to a beach on the island or playing pool games

💬 I have been on holiday to Lixouri Bay Beach Club 7 times always wanting to come back and instruct, when I heard you could do a windsurf instructor qualification there I knew I had to do it.

🙋🏽‍♀️ What is your goal for next summer?
💬 I hope to have got my intermediate windsurf instructor qualification by next summer so that I can teach even more!
