A quick snapshot of our incredible honeymoon to Sri Lanka! We booked this in collaboration with Not In the Guidebooks who we work very closely with and always go to for a truly authentic off the beaten track, eco friendly and culturally immersive trip. We love the fact that you will only stay in ethical hotels that include the local community and have a strong sense of sustainability- something that aligns well with our ethos too.We started off exploring the โ€œcultural triangleโ€ of Sri Lanka before heading to the tea plantations and hill country. The iconic train ride took us through the rolling hills and 9 arch bridge before our safari stay in Gal Oya. The beach stay was in no other than Arugum bay - the host spot for surfers, before staying in the paddy fields in Wellawaya. A quick stop to Galle and turtle beach before heading back to Colombo. Through this trip we stayed in 9 different hotels and packed almost every day full of activities (which of course is optional). Would we change anything about this trip? We would have loved to have stayed longer! We were lucky enough to be invited to the Tipto roadshow last week where we met over 10 different suppliers in a speed dating format. We learnt more about each supplier and what we can offer to our clients. What a great day at The Grand Hotel, Torquay wedding fair today! We spoke to lots and lots of lovely couples looking for all sorts of honeymoons and destination weddings! Whilst in Marrakech we visited three luxury Riads for our clients ๐Ÿ˜ Riad Noir D'Ivoire @riadnoirdivoire - an outstanding riad with exceptional customer service. One of the rooms we viewed was situated over two floors with an enormous egg bath and double bathroom. There was even a private terrace with a hot tub and views of Marrakech and the riad pool below. The restaurant is centered around the beautiful traditional Moroccan pool with a grand piano and comfortable seating area. The Riad offers wine tasting sessions (we found out Moroccan wine is lovely!) The restaurant offers fine seasonal food created using a combination of international recipes (especially French cuisine from a renowned French chef) and techniques with local products and flavours which can be enjoyed by patrons and non patrons alike. Riad Adore - a gorgeous intimate riad with 10 beautifully designed rooms. The Riad is located minutes from the souks and historical sites. The plunge pool, splashing fountains and tropical plants will welcome you through the decorated entrance. Riad Kherredine @riadkheirredine - a riad with exceptional reviews. The whole place is superbly decorated with Moroccan furniture and textiles with a beautiful green courtyard and trickling fountain. There are two pools in this riad and they are expanding to include a gym and another spa too. The terrace has wonderful views of Marrakech and the atlas mountains in the distance. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner on request taking influences from Italy, Spain and France and weaving them into a Moroccan tapestry of flavours.
