As we commence 2025, we're also celebrating 25 years of Nomadic Travel.

It has been a wonderful quarter of a century in which we have made so many friends and helped arrange such a myriad of amazing adventures for our clients.

Since we first opened our doors in April 2000, we’ve been overwhelmed by the breadth and variety of the travel requests our customers have presented to us.

We’ve had clients encounter outstanding wildlife from snow leopards in Ladakh to Emperor Penguins in Antarctica, trek in all the main mountain ranges from the Andes to the Himalaya, fly by hot air balloon over the Valley of the Kings and the surreal landscape of Cappadocia, meet tribespeople in Central Africa and Papua New Guinea, sleep under the stars in a desert camp or in 5-star luxury and travel by all means of transport from rickshaws and rice barges to helicopters and private limousines.

There’s hardly a country left that our clients haven’t visited – in fact, that’s a list we need to make!

We’ve been proud too that the tours and tailor-made holidays we have arranged over these past 25 years have helped support local businesses across the world and sustained employment, particularly in low and middle-income countries. We’ve forged close relationships with the tour operators that we feel have the best ‘Responsible Travel’ credentials and supported the work of ‘Water Aid’ from our profits to help provide reliable water supplies to remote communities.

All in all, it has been an exhilarating 25 years!

We thank you for your loyal custom and look forward to creating more memorable moments for you on your travels in 2025.

Wondrous things can happen at any moment on a polar voyage.

In Antarctica, everyone may suddenly rush to the deck to see a pod of humpback whales leaping and twisting amidst the ice floes. Or in the Arctic, a lone male polar bear can approach across the pack ice and pad gently alongside the boat, sniffing at the air with immense curiosity.

It is the sheer spontaneity of each day's events, along with the spectacular scenery for which the polar regions are rightly acclaimed, that gives expeditionary voyages their unrivalled dramatic essence.

It's always recommended to book well in advance for any polar journey as the best cabins soon get snapped up and there are also generous early booking offers available. For Antarctica, dates are already bookable for voyages as far ahead as March 2026 and for the Arctic, the summer 2025 season is already filling up.

India is best avoided during the monsoon months of May to September, right?

Actually, it's Himalayan province of Ladakh lies beyond the reach of the rains and is at its very best during these summer months.

And with the cost of a tourist e-visa currently reduced from around $150 to just $10 until 30 September, a journey there is all the more attractive just now.
