That's a wrap for the 2024 season. We have many new family memories and I hope you did too.

The caravan is all safely packed up for the winter and we will be back in March to kick off the 2025 season. 👋😄

We love going for hikes so this time we decided to return to Dartmoor and explore the Avon Dam Reservoir near South Brent.

What a beautiful easy hike from the carpark along a tarmac road to the Dam. This walk is perfect for wheelchair users although going uphill, prams, bikes and scooters.
The final bit up to the reservoir is no longer tarmac.
Beautifully serene.

We last visited Pennywell farm in 2021 after COVID.
3 years on our now nearly 6 year old had a brilliant day doing the Halloween activity trail, going on the train and tractor ride, playing in the numerous playgrounds and cuddling the animals which she had to work up to as we are not animal people.
As it was Halloween they also had a huge pumpkin field with live music and roasted marshmallows which was fab.

Definitely worth a visit and highly recommended.

We are back for the half term making more family memories.

With some exceptional weather we set off for a walk which ended up to be a 12km loop along the disused railway line, discovering the forest school, enjoying the Knowle village hall playground and back to Devon Cliffs along the coast path.

We ended a fulfilled day with dinner at South Beach

We just had a brilliant 10 day family holiday with many precious memories made.

Activities at Devon Cliffs

There are so many outdoor to try whilst on holidays.

Today the kids enjoyed a session at the giant inflatables.
There are two choices: children aged 4-7 years and 8-16 years.

Activities are bookable on the app or from the leisure desk when on site.

Another great few days away have come to an end and many more family memories made.

Our home from home is all set up and ready for the next family to make theirs.

Today we took a day trip out to the Dartington Estate.

I had never heard of it but it was recommended as a fab place to find wild garlic which is in season now.

And wow, I was not disappointed. Seas and seas of wild garlic to delight any fan. We picked two zip lock bags full to make some more goodies when we get home.

We took a stroll from the car park to the cafe where we picked up a map to get out bearings and then followed the signs for the Deer Park. We spotted a large herd of deer thoroughly enjoying the sunshine. We took the long route around which led us past some informative signs into the woodlands and brought us out at the banks of the river dart.
Due to the recent heavy rainfall it was pretty muddy underfoot, so please come appropriately dressed.

Looping back to the car park we came across a small but interesting playground across from the White Hart pub. There is also a hotel to stay in overnight as well as the formal grade 2* listed gardens which we didn't visit on this occasion. Entrance for that is £7 per adult.

Parking is £6 for the whole day and as we took a picnic, this is all we spend.
