We were delighted to be sent this photograph of light-keeper John Henderson recently by one of his descendants.

Mr Henderson was Principal Light-keeper of Kinnaird Head 1935-37, the station being his first charge in that rank. He had served as an assistant keeper for the 24 years upto his promotion at Whalsay Skerries, Pentland Skerries, Mull of Galloway, Chicken Rock and the Bell Rock.

From 1935 as a Principal Keeper he served at Kinnaird Head, Covesea Lighthouse, Pentland Skerries, Scurdie Ness, Holy Isle and St. Abbs Lighthouse where he retired in 1950. The photograph was taken during his posting at St. Abb's Head.

Always wonderful to put a face to a name, particularly to our keepers here at Kinnaird Head.

Heartbreaking news from our colleagues on Arran. A sobering reminder not to have any fires on our sites and cause scenes like this. Our thoughts are with you all - please help us protect our special places 🙏🏻

If you’re visiting the Isle of Arran, please avoid Glen Rosa and Goat Fell. Scottish Fire and Rescue has been battling a wildfire in the glen since Thursday.

We’re devastated to see the scale of damage which we won't fully understand until the fire is out and our rangers have had a chance to inspect the area.

This is a stark reminder of how careful we all need to be in the outdoors – springtime brings an elevated fire risk, especially after periods of dry weather, so please do not light fires, use barbeques or bring naked flames outdoors, and always follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

Our local golf course has a new team running the restaurant... best of luck

From March 31st Foxtons Wine Bar team from nearby Berwick took over the management of the Heathers at Eyemouth Golf Club.

The Clubhouse is our new name but absolutely everyone is welcome whether you are a golfer or not! Join us for coffees, or something stronger!

Blessed with the most amazing view you can watch the coastline change as boats come and go and the North Sea changes colour depending upon its mood and the wind!

We are also serving breakfast, brunch, coffees, lunch, dinner and more. Weddings events, funerals and parties are catered for, along with outside catering too.

When it comes to enjoying a good game of golf at your favourite golf course we know that food and drinks are a big part of the experience - especially if you don’t score well!

Introducing our general manager Mark Collin: he has been Eyemouth club champion a few times now, so he knows the course better than most! More importantly Mark is a highly skilled restaurant and bar operator!

The Clubhouse at Eyemouth, is now operated by the same management team that runs Foxtons Wine Bar & Restaurant in Berwick. Now Mark is building a new dining and drinking experience at The Clubhouse.

My nephew Jake is my hero and amazes me daily 💙

Let's take a moment to celebrate and appreciate the incredible children with autism who bring so much joy, creativity, and inspiration to our world.

Kids with autism are amazing and special in their own way, with unique talents and abilities that should be celebrated. Their passion for learning and exploring can lead to remarkable discoveries and breakthroughs, and their kindness and empathy can inspire us all.

Let's work together to create a world that is more inclusive and welcoming for everyone. By embracing diversity and celebrating the unique strengths of children with autism, we can make a positive difference in their lives and in our communities.

This week, (and every week!) we celebrate the wonderful children, teens and grown-ups with Autism and the amazing qualities they share with the world.
