All teams successfully navigated the attack and escape routes, making it safely off the Hardangervidda plateau. We followed in the footsteps of true legends.
The Norwegian commandos who, in 1943, carried out one of the most daring sabotage missions of World War II, crippling N**i Germany’s nuclear ambitions.
On the night of February 27–28, 1943, a small team of Norwegian commandos, led by Joachim Rønneberg, infiltrated the heavily guarded facility and successfully destroyed the heavy water production cells, setting back Germany’s atomic bomb project.
After the attack, the team escaped across the Hardangervidda plateau, enduring extreme winter conditions. Some evaded capture by skiing over 400 km to Sweden, while others remained in Norway to continue resistance efforts.
Despite N**i manhunts, the saboteurs suffered no casualties and accomplished their mission without a single shot fired.
Their actions remain one of the most significant acts of resistance during the war, a testament to courage, strategy, and survival in one of the harshest environments on Earth.
