UPDATE: Sadly the steel band have cancelled due to illness, so instead we have a large speaker and a playlist. I’m so sorry to everyone that is disappointed - we still have all of our food that we have prepared and hope that everyone will still come to enjoy the Caribbean vibes 💃🏻

Today (Saturday 19th) is Caribbean Afternoon at Castle Beach! 😎🌴🌞

🇯🇲 We have our Caribbean steel drums Band - Steel Appeal - playing from 4-6pm, and we will be open until 7pm serving all your usual favourites, plus the following specials:

🫑 Jerk chicken & peppers in a sourdough toastie, served with homemade slaw and mango salsa

🌽 Jerk peppers, babycorn, black eyed beans and sautéed red onions in a sourdough toastie, served with homemade slaw and mango salsa

🥭 Mango & Lime cake with zesty cream cheese frosting

🍹 Mocktail Special - Pinã Coladas!
Fresh pineapple juice and coconut cream shaken over ice with lime and one of those little umbrellas.

💃🏻 Sadly we don’t have a drinks licence, so it’s BYOR (Bring Ya Own Rum)

Been a really lovely day on CHQ today.
Perfect for all the visitors seeing the TALL SHIPS.
Great atmosphere made all the better with The Rock Choir Cornwall singing a couple of sets.

Falmouth Week starts tomorrow and we can't wait.

👩‍🎤Pink Wig Parade, 🎉 Falmouth Carnival, ⚡️ Lightening Seeds, 🎧 Craig Charles, 📀Betty Boo and🎸Fleetwood Bac to name just a few of the many entertainment highlights and of course...the sailing⛵️! It's going to be so much fun. We hope everyone attending has a wonderful time.

It's been incredibly quiet on Custom House Quay this Winter, however a hive of activity at Watermens Gallery, this was the beachscape I did at the wonderful workshop in St Agnes, fantastic day last Saturday, great group of fellow artists , now carrying on with commissions, and more work for up coming season & wintery jobs... Pop in and say hello , when you're next down.

A big thank you to St Agnes Art Group for turning out on mass for my demo and workshop on Saturday. Great fun!

This Saturday 28th May from 5-9pm you will be able to enjoy the delicious creations of right here on the beach. What could be better? 🍕

Ice creams, coffees, cakes, cold drinks, puddings, etc. will be available from the café too, which will also be open until 9pm 🍦😎☕️🍹🍪

Slowly getting there, just putting in very subtle reflections, using flat edged brushes and a couple of tones darker than the image reflected and soften with an old chiseled brush to blend in with background.
