This is why it’s important to get regular oil changes.
This customers low mileage 2019 Vauxhall came in with an oil light and low oil pressure. Belt residue had blocked the oil strainer in the sump. After a new belt, a clean up and an oil and filter change was all ok. Could have been worse…. Luckily no engine damage.

Unfortunately we had no correct answer from our BMW engine knock video yesterday. 🙄

So that means the prize of the Swinburne’s Gold Club Membership which entitled you to free MOTs for life is now void. 😂😂

I can confirm though that the issue was in fact the Crankshaft Pulley causing that horrendous noise.

Well… Aaron finally fixed it. Took him a while this one, 🤣🤣
Was one of them jobs where you fix one issue, and another would surface! A mixture of that and back order parts. It’s finally done and been collected. Running smoothly.

Another reminder for all you 1.0ltr Ford Ecoboost owners out there.

Get your oil changed at the correct interval.
Use the correct oil specified.
Timing belt changed at correct interval.

We had a Focus come in with a hard brake pedal, signs of a brake vacuum pump already being changed.

(Pictures attached)

Upon further investigation, found brake vacuum pump clogged up with bits of timing belt residue. Belt cracking and deteriorated.

Cleaned out Vac pump.
Cleaned out oil pump.
Cleaned sump out.
New timing belt fitted.
Oil and filter changed.

Brand new 👍🏻👍🏻

One of Matt’s favourite devices here at Swinburne’s. The smoke machine is good for detecting leaks on the intake system. As you can see for yourself. Customer complain of a loud hissing noise lack of power. Smoke goes through the intake and escapes through the damaged intercooler. Quite an obvious fault as it’s damaged, but very good for detecting inner seals on hoses, and even minor cracks on the inlet manifold. A very handy piece of equipment. 👍🏻👍🏻
