Our second trip to the Great Barrier Reef took us to Normandy Island on a boat trip with @franklandislands - after a stunning journey down the river, we cruised across the ocean. After a meandering journey up to the Atherton Tablelands, we spent a day seeking out more Australian wildlife. Whilst success was had with platypus and a sleepy possum, the tree kangaroos evaded us. Volcanic Lake Barrine is also home to an amazing tea house and eels that migrate over 5,000 kms to spawn (usually post 30 years old) and whose daughters somehow find their way back unguided, taking up to 3 years. Sometimes it’s not only the mammals that amaze. #abioz24 #amazingwildlife
