Hi there. I’m trying to find out more about my family on my granddad’s side who I believe lived in five mile town. My surname is Carruth and any information would be really helpful.
My grandfather was William John Carruth born there we think and left age 4. Parents we think we’re William and not sure about my great grandmother. He had an older sister and younger brother called Rebecca and Victor. Victor was born in Dublin though so likely not known there.

Would anyone know anything abt this cottage,in Fivemiletown, it had belonged to my grandfather ..my dad George kidney was brought up there ..The name at the top is the name of the farm .thankyou ..

Hi I’m looking for family in Fivemiletown. Family name is Irwin. Violet Irwin she married an English soldier and moved to England after the 2nd world war and had 2 sons Frank and Irwin, her sister was Margaret who also moved away to Newcastle any info would be very much appreciated xx

Hi, We'll be in Fivemiletown in May and would like any information on John McGeary (M'Geary) (1849-1921) who was married to Ann Monaghan and had three children: John Stanislaus, Kathleen, and Maureen. They had a farm at Murley Cross across from the schoolhouse. My husband father and grandfather were baptized at the Church. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Janet

Can anyone help, Heidi Ann Singleton. I received this message today, with a photo.
Thank you I will try my best as I don’t no to much just my grandfather came from the town and move to Blackpool in the war his name was Samuel young his family own business in the town the hotel as in the original letter head from the hotel the shop and an undertakers my dad had told me about all the marble that had to be left behind, my grandfather raced greyhounds and trained them and had many champions one of the most famous being maiden’s boy they move to Blackpool in the war and opened a new hotel the my dad and sister were born there sadly I am my brother of the last of the Youngs as I got married and have now changed name my brother is the last I have boys and I’ve given them double barrel surnames but it’s sad to see that they will be the last it will be wonderful to be able to give them more information here’s a picture of Madden‘s boy along with all the many trophies he won gold and silver.

Hello, I am looking for help tracing family , I am looking for anyone that would know the family of Ernest Hugh Breen b1916 in stragole . Believe he died in 1985. He married a Dublin woman phyllis doran in 1960 in new York and she died in 1991. They both lived in locust valley new York but are both buried in fivemiletown in the st Margarets cemetery.

It's always nice to hear from people with a connection to Fivemiletown. Thanks to Stephen Williamson for the photos from Colebrooke and Cavanaleck, and his message below.

"Revisited the gate lodge at the Enniskillen Road end of the Colebrook estate today. So sad to see it having fallen into an irreparable condition. Family connections as my mother spent her early childhood in this huse, as her father as the gamekeeper for the estate. Would have been in the early 1940s. Obviously no mo 'ney in renovating this gate house, unlike the one on the other side of the estate. So sad.
Also visited Cavanalack Presbyterian church, on a reminiscing sort of day. My mother was christened, went to Sunday school, and got married here. Now her spiritual resting place as well."

I am looking for help with some genealogy questions. I am looking for info on a Charles McGuire/Maguire and /or info on his son Patrick McGuire. Charles came to East Machias, Maine, USA in 1837. He came from Fivemiletown, Tyrone. He was born in 1808 and his son Patrick was born in 1831. That is all the info I have. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
