Quite often guests will split their stay to have a couple of nights at the end of their stay in an overwater villa. Best of both worlds!

So my tips on packing for a trip to The Maldives are:
Take half of what you think you actually need. No shoes, just flip flops, I have worn flowery ones during the day and glittery ones in the evening.
Day wear is swimwear and a cover-up. Evening is a maxi dress for me. Blokes do not need long trousers no matter how high-end you're going. Short sleeve shirt and nice shorts for the evening is fine.
If you have booked a decent resort, you do not need to bring shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel. Here we have Asprey London and having checked it's about £38 a bottle so leave yours at home! Elemis is also popular in villas here, too.
Decant your favourite moisturiser, etc, into small pots and bottles. There is no need to carry 2 months supply.
Suntan lotion - we are on our 3rd factor 50 bottle and we don't sunbathe. It's expensive here so bring what you need.
Sun hat.. bring one. It is seriously hot all year round and even walking to breakfast, it's 30 degrees.
If you snorkel.. bring a long sleeved rash vest with UV protection. Water shoes are good to bring too. Being in the water for even half an hour, you can burn. Where we stay, all snorkel equipment is included FOC so no need to bring that. (Although I do bring my full face one).
You do not need a jacket for the evening... it's hot.
Mozzie spray.. many resorts it is not needed at all but if you find yourself where it is and you get bitten in Europe, bring some in case.
If you are the type of person who likes to tip your cleaner or favourite bar person at the end of your stay, bring a few $US cash. This is absolutely not expected or required but personal choice.
Finally, bring swimwear and something to pop on in the evening in your carry on incase the airline has lost your luggage and it's delayed.. not Maldives specific but a good rule for anywhere!
Everyone should come here. There is a reason it's a bucket list destination ❤️ 😍

Hello from The Maldives!
15 years ago today, we had a destination wedding in 🇨🇺 Cuba.
Having personally done this style of wedding, I would highly recommend it.
Regardless of whether it is for 20 guests or just for the happy couple, I can arrange this for you and at a fraction of the cost of a UK wedding.
I believe it was much less stressful too, as all of the finer details such as hair, nails and even in my case a horse and carriage, I arranged directly with the onsite wedding coordinator.

Happy Friday from The Maldives, where it is a sunny 32 degrees at 11am!
Maldives is no longer just all about couples. Yesterday, we took a visit to the sister island of OBLU XPERIENCE AILAFUSHI. A 4 star all inclusive resort that will not break the bank. Very lively, DJ by the pool, karaoke, etc, but in my opinion, the biggest USP is their kids club. Open from 9am to 6pm, kids aged 4 to 12 can be left there all day, every day. They even feed them lunch and pop them to bed in the cutest little beds if needed. Tiny deck chairs too.
How much? Zero... it is included!! 8 hours of child care free every day to allow the grown-ups to have some time off. With beautiful 2 bedroom ocean view rooms, it makes this resort incredible for families as well as groups of friends. Check out these amazing kids' club photos and family room! The tiny beds in the kids club were too cute! Babysitting in the evening is available and payable at $25 per hour if you need more time off.

🏖On Tuesday I am very excited to be heading out on our holiday to the Maldives - OBLU SELECT Lobigili and OZEN LIFE Maadhoo!
So I wanted to share with you some of my travel & packing tips.
🏝I use packing cubes, one for beachwear, dresses, underwear etc. Unpacking will take minutes when you arrive. Handy for a multi-centre too as you can pack them according to which destination you will be at. Roll not fold and compression ones give more room.
🏝If you usually like a drink and something to eat before your flight, consider booking an airport lounge. You will get a seat, runway view and have unlimited snacks, light meals and drinks for up to 3 hours so this is very cost effective and you don’t get all the queues at the bars. I will also be filling up my water bottle here ready for the flight as the bottles on the plane are tiny and you need to keep hydrated.
🏝Print your QR codes, boarding pass if you can. Yes, it is all digital but think of all eventualities, phone not working etc.
🏝Buy some airport approved liquid bags, pack your liquids before you arrive at the airport so you are good to go through without having to do it there.
🏝Always take clothing in your hand luggage for the first 24 hours in case your luggage is delayed. I will take swimwear, beach coverup, a dress for the evening and un**es!
🏝As the Maldives is HOT all year round, I will decant a bit of factor 50 into a travel bottle so we have protection for getting onto the transfer and to the villa on arrival. It rarely goes below 30 degrees, so it is hot, hot, hot.
🏝Take all the sunscreen with you that you think you will need – this is usually expensive when you get there so take enough to last. Any left when you go – be a good neighbour and leave for those not as organised. 😊
🏝Although every island has bars very close to the beach, if you wanted to walk and find a secluded quiet spot, take a thermos mug with you. That way you can get your cocktail and take it with you without it melting (if you like a lot, look at the huge Bubba Kegs 😊)
Finally enjoy, it wasn’t that long ago we didn’t know if we could ever travel again so seize every opportunity to do so! 😊 x
