Just thought I’d share a few pics of my weekend in Las Vegas! As much as I love the bright lights and casinos on the strip - there’s so much to see nearby! We hired a car and headed out to see Seven Magic Mountains, drove through the stunning Valley of Fire, then finished at the awesome Hoover Dam. There’s so much more to Nevada than just vegas! Said goodbye to The Mirage and had one last watch of the volcano eruption- sadly it’s closing its doors on 17th July to make way for the new Hard Rock and it’s 700ft guitar 🎸 (volcano video in comments)

Just back from a fun trip out to LA - as you all know, this is my fav city in the US, and it still doesn’t disappoint. Hired a car and headed to some of my favourite sights - Griffith Observatory, Hollywood sign, Walk of Fame, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Venice High School (Rydell High in Grease), Malibu, Carbon Beach, Leo Carrillo State Beach (opening scene from Grease) and then finished with Cocktails and a ride on the Big Wheel for sunset in Santa Monica.

Just thought I’d share some photos with you, if the incredibly beautiful Fall Colours, in Pennsylvania. I’ve just returned from a short trip out there, where I hired a car and headed off the The Laurel Highlands- voted one of the top places in the USA for fall colour this year. As it’s a little further south, now and the next week or so is prime time!

We went to the Laurel highlands, Laurel ridge, Baughman Rock and Ohiopyle State park - So pretty - photos don’t do it justice 😍🥰🇺🇸

Hi everyone!
I’ve just returned from a fabulous trip out to San Diego, Southern California.
Heathrow to San Diego is a very popular direct route for British Airways and is increasing to twice daily next year too!
I spent some time in the city, before I headed to the absolutely brilliant Miramar Air Show - I literally felt like I was an extra in Top Gun 😂, such a great show, and can you believe - free to enter, and with a free program!!
I then headed up to the gorgeous town of Oceanside- half way between between San Diego and LA. What a beautiful place - a real Californian beach town with a surf town vibe. Lots of amazing restaurants, even Michelin star ones, lots of bars and some really nice shops. The promenade is lovely for a long walk, and it’s also got a great pier. Oceanside is also home to the original house from Top Gun where Charlie lived - although it’s had a revamp since the movie.
From Oceanside I got on the Coaster train back to San Diego - a great ride, top deck beach side all the way, and only $6.50 for the hour long trip - so ideal if you don’t wish to rent a car!

So, our final destination - Roanoke, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We stayed in the most amazing B&B just outside town- so peaceful and beautiful with amazing friendly hosts, and the most fantastic breakfast each morning. So nice to meet other guests around the breakfast table, and share suggestions etc. Sadly the weather turned here, and we were mostly above or in the clouds, so we didn’t get to experience the amazing views from the Blue Ridge Parkway - this did however mean we got to experience the Virginia Safari park, which we probably would have missed otherwise. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and a day full of laughter and funny memories. It’s 3 Mile drive in your car through the park to feed the animals- I’ve never been so close to animals like this, at one point we nearly had a zebra get in the car to join us for the drive! Was so much fun we drove it twice! There is also a walk through park which is brilliant too.
We visited the Star, that Roanoke is famous for and drove what we could on the Parkway, did a short hike, and ate in some fabulous restaurants in town. Was also nice to chill in the calm surroundings and make use of the lovely pool at the B&B, and recharge our batteries. Our last day we drove the full 105 miles on Skyline Drive, through Shenendoah National Park - luckily the weather was lovely, but had the normal haze in the park. Such a beautiful park, was a great last day.
Our flight from Washington Dulles was a late one, and as we were in club world we could enjoy the business lounge - the US said farewell to us with the most amazing sunset.
Another wonderful Roadtrip - 5 States over the 2 weeks, and a new found love for Virginia and Maryland - I will be back!

So as I leave to start the long drive to our last destination, I thought I’d drop you an update from Charlotte, N.Carolina where I’ve been for the last 3 nights/2 days. It was a long but easy 5.5hr drive from Virginia Beach, but we got caught in a huge storm which made the last 1.5hrs a very intense drive - not seen lightning like it for many years! I’ve been to Charlotte before, it’s a cool city - with a Mini Manhattan vibe. We did a really fun segway tour of the city, eaten in some fab restaurants (think I’ve put on a stone so far! ) went to watch the Carolina Panthers vs Detroit Lions at the amazing Bank of America stadium and then yesterday we hit Carowinds theme park - honestly, these 4 parks we have visited this trip have been brilliant. The coasters are another level. Yesterdays Fury 325 - wow- what a coaster!! 325ft climb and drop, and 95mph of intense ride - so good I had to ride it again once I’d got over the shock from the first ride! Last 2 weeks in August have been a great time to go to these parks - no real queues anywhere!!
You know I love Orlando, but I can honestly say if you love Theme Parks there is so much more to enjoy if you travel elsewhere - also cheaper, quieter and better rides!! Carowinds and Kings dominion should be at the top of your ‘go to’ list!!
Only 3 more nights exploring the Blue Ridge mountains and Shenandoah, before we fly home. Another epic Roadtrip ❤️

So next stop was the wonderful Virginia Beach, back in Virginia- this has been my fav stop so far this trip. Lovely boardwalk, amazing dining scene, and a wonderful beach - all 35 miles of it!! I particularly loved it here as the US Navy Airforce Oceana base is here - the F18 pilots practice between 8am and 11pm every day! I do love a fighter plane 😂
We were treated to a kayaking trip in Chesapeake Bay, where we kayaked with 100s of bottlenose dolphins - something I will never ever forget.
We also spent a day at Busch Gardens in nearby Williamsburg - I personally think this one is better than Tampa Bay!

Another little update for you!
We left Annapolis for the beach town of Ocean City, where we spent 2 nights exploring the area. We made a stop in Delaware at Rehoboth Beach (The Nations Summer capital) and Bethany Beach on the way. I didn’t know much about this area, but I can confirm it’s great with fabulous beaches! Ocean city is lovely, especially for families with it’s huge boardwalk (almost 3 miles long!!), fun fairs, go karting, crazy golf etc. From Ocean City we visited Assateague Island - home to the wild ponies that live here, and dunes that go on for ever!

Hello!! Just checking in with a little update for you - having a fab time exploring the Capital Region - on arrival to Washington Dulles airport we collected our car rental and headed straight to Fredericksburg, where we stayed our first 2 nights. We really liked it here, lots of Civil War and Battlefield history. Loved the vibe, and especially loved the architecture too. We enjoyed a day at Kings Dominion theme park- this park is brilliant, we’ve been to loads in the US and we put this up there as one of the best - the rides are all awesome, but especially Intimidator - I wasn’t brave enough but hubby and daughter rode it and have put it top of their coaster list.
Next stop is Annapolis where I am now, but moving on tomorrow- Annapolis is home to the US Naval academy, beautiful houses, a lovely marina and a generally gorgeous place - I could live here! So clean, friendly and very cosmopolitan. We explored the town yesterday and today we went to Six flags America- as you know, we do love a theme park!

Just a heads up, if you need me for any quotes or bookings, I will be away on my holidays from next Tuesday (15th) through until early September.

This time I’m heading somewhere new (mostly) exploring the Capital Region - Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina - I’ll be stopping in Fredricksburg, Annapolis, Ocean City, Virginia Beach, Charlotte and Roanoke. I’ll be exploring Shenandoah National Park and The Blue Ridge Mountains, driving the Blue Ridge parkway and Skyline drive, as well as the lovely beaches and of course - a good few theme parks in this area!

I know lots of you love to follow my journeys, so I will do my best to post some updates along the way.

Just back from a quick trip to beautiful Boston - 10 years since I went previously- I’d forgotten how pretty a city it is! Visited Faneuil Hall, The Old State House, Back Bay, Prudential building, Acorn Street and the original Cheers bar - and it wouldn’t be right to not stop at the Samuel Adam’s brewery for a Boston Lager would it!?

Greetings from Phoenix, Arizona! Just enjoying a few days here exploring. Hired a car and drove the 4 hour route up to The Grand Canyon, stopping at Rock Springs and Flagstaff along the way. Havent been to the GC since 2003, and I have to admit it felt far more special this time!
On the drive back to Phoenix we went to a Sedona - I am in love with this place, it’s so beautiful! A mix of Zion and Yosemite I would say! I will be back to Sedona on a holiday at some point, as I really want to explore some more, and enjoy some of the amazing hikes and trails on offer- just stunning ❤️

It’s the most wonderful time of the year — the Rockefeller Center Tree has been selected, decorated and ready for the big ‘switch on’ on 30th November.

Standing at 82 feet tall, 50 feet wide and weighing in at 14 tons, the approximately 90-year-old Norway Spruce was announced as this year’s holiday tree.

In comparison, last year’s tree, from Maryland, was only 79 feet tall and weight 12 tons, but was decked out with 50,000 lights and topped with a star weighing 900 pounds.

This year’s spruce has had the same, dazzling treatment, complete with the star made from 3 million Swarovski crystals, designed by architect Daniel Libeskind.
