We have had a lot of parents asking about paying by card onboard our school bus services!!! Unfortunately this is not something we are available to offer on our school vehicles....HOWEVER WE DO HAVE A SOLUTION!!!!

We have added all of our School Services to our ShuttleID Portal which will allow you to pre-purchase tickets before boarding the bus!!!

This will create an E-Ticket which will be scanned on-board by the driver.

🎫🎫🎫 WEEKLY PASS PRICE CHANGES 🎫🎫🎫

Just a friendly reminder that as of 1st September (Today) we will no longer be accepting Blackpool Transport Passes onboard our 74 & 75 Services.

You will now need to purchase the LCC Weekly Pass either on our app or OnBoard the bus from our drivers. They are priced at Β£18 for Adults and Β£14 for under 19s. (These can be used on all LCC Subsidised Services throughout the county)

Daily Prices are still Β£2 Flat Fare (Β£1 after 7pm Weekdays and all day Sundays)

Please ensure you state your destination when boarding the bus to ensure the drivers charge you the correct fare as some fares are less than the Β£2 fare cap πŸ’·

So as the Summer Term is just around the corner we have a couple of updates for our customers:-

β€’ We are now operating the 660 (Cleveleys to Hodgson) and 648 (Fleetwood to Poulton Schools) services.

β€’ We will no longer be operating the 541 (Pilling to Poulton Schools) service (This service is now operated by Transpora North West)

β€’ The SF1 'Campus Connect' will now be extended to serve Blackpool and The Fylde College aswell as The Blackpool Sixth Form College. This service is from Lytham, Warton, Freckleton, Wrea Green, Kirkham, Wesham, Greenhalgh, Elswick & Gt Eccleston.

β€’ School Bus Fares on LCC Services are now as follows
0to3 Miles - Β£1.95 Single Β£3.50 Return
3to8 Miles - Β£2.95 Single Β£4.90 Return
8+ Miles - Β£3.35 Single Β£6.10 Return

Season Tickets are available through Lancashire County Council.

Well we have been blown away by the feedback we have recieved in the first week of operation!!! It's been amazing to see so many customers joining us, we couldn't believe that over 1000 people per day use the service and we look forward to welcoming more and more people onboard as time goes on.

Just to clarify a couple of points:-

The Android App IS in build but we are still waiting on Google to approve it!!!

The Next Stop Announcements will be in operation next week, just waiting on Hanover finalising the files for us to approve!!!

We are pleased to announce that the Tracking Element to our IOS app is now live and working correctly, you can also track our vehicles on Bustimes.org too 🀳

Unfortunately we are no closer to getting the Android version of the app released, we are pushing hard for it tho so please bare with us 🀞

We have had a couple of teething issues with timings this week which we are working on with our team to make sure we offer our customers the best possible experience 🚏⏰️

After the first two days of our operation of the 74 & 75 service operation, we have be blown away with the amount of customers and the excellent feedback we have recieved. We have also taken onboard the negative comments and we will be doing our best to accomodate these πŸ‘Œ

A few common questions we have had from customers have been:-

β€’ Do you accept NowCards/Disabled Passes - Yes....we sure do!!!

β€’ Are you participating in the Β£2 fare cap - Yes....we sure are!!!

β€’ Do you sell Monthly Tickets - Unfortunately as the service is Lancashire County Council funded, they do not offer Monthly Tickets (i will however be passing on the fact that we have had alot of interest in a Monthly Ticket to them to see if there is anything we can do)

β€’ Your timetable doesn't show all the stops like Blackpool Transports did....what stops can we use to get the bus from - You can use ANY bus stop on the route to catch our buses, just make sure to hail the driver.

β€’ Can we use contactless payment onboard - Yes....our ticket machines accept contactless card payments

β€’ When will the Android App be ready - We have been pushing our App Developer today and it is currently pending authorisation with Google (We apologise for this not being available from the start of the contract as we began the process in plenty of time to avoid this!!!)

β€’ Your buses arn't telling us when the Next Stop is...why not - We are waiting on the system supplier getting the files to us, they have assured us this will be live by the end of the week and once again we apologise for the inconvenience.

β€’ Where can we get a copy of your timetables whilst the app is created - You can find our timetables on our website (www.archwaytravel.co.uk), we also have paper timetables on the buses, just ask the driver for a copy and they will be happy to pass you one.

β€’ Will you be getting WiFi onboard your buses - No, we do not have any plans to offer WiFi onboard our buses. They do have USB Charging Points for you to use tho.

We hope that we have covered most of the commonly asked questions but please feel free to get in contact if you require any more infomation.

Finally i would like to thank each and every one of our new customers, the drivers have all commented on how positive the feedback they have been recieving. We understand a new operator on a route in daunting for some but we just want to provide you with the best possible service and we always welcome feedback, both negative and positive!!!

It's here....it's finally here!!! After 3 months of planning, preparation and quite alot of education we have made it!!!

Over the last three months we have been really busy getting everything in place for the 18th August and the time has finally come for us to hit the road and serve our new customers βŒ›οΈ

I'd like to thank everyone who has been with us so far with this contract....

With two days to go before we take over operation of the 74 & 75 service we are pleased to release the 'Archway App' (only valid for IOS currently due to issues with Google that we are working to resolve)

We have had plenty of questions over the last few days....mainly these few common ones:-
β€’ "I've bought Blackpool Transport tickets...will you accept them" Yes we sure will, only until the 31st August tho!!!
β€’ "Has the route changed" Nope....we follow exactly the same route as currently and the Skippool Road Closure has been opened ready for us.
β€’ "Has the timetable changed" Some minor changes but only to improve the service so journies start and finish in Fleetwood or Preston rather than Cleveleys or Gt Eccleston.
β€’ "Do the buses accept contactless payment" We sure, it's tested and ready to go.

We have been out and about today with a photographer getting some shots of our new buses and the excellent team of drivers we have got got to drive them....we will release these over the next few weeks πŸ“Έ

Well, todays been a busy day!!!

The Ticket Machines are all fitted and tested, the final few livery wraps have been delivered ready to be fitted tomorrow and we are working through the final few finishing touches to the vehicles.

Our drivers have boxed the route off and have even been checking out the diversion routes to make sure they know what to do when we get them inevitable suprise road closures in Winter 🌦

We will post all Service Updates on our Social Media aswell as being available via our App.

On the subject of our App, we will be initially releasing the IOS version as we are having some issues with Google which need to be overcome. Hopefully this will be resolved before Sunday but we just want to let you all know whats going on 🀳

They've cracked it....most of our drivers are happy to go solo next week and they've loved crusing round for the last few days in our fleet of new vehicles.

Our Ticket Machines have landed this evening ready for fitment tomorrow, remember we offer contactless payments onboard aswell as the full range of LCC Tickets.

We have had the team from Alexander Dennis with us today doing vehicle familiarisation for both our drivers and our maintainance team.

Our app will be released on Saturday to allow you to purchase your tickets, view the timetables and track the buses.

Another excellent day of driver training today with our new drivers. Some very positive feedback on our buses by a few customers we have spotted whilst out and about πŸ‘‹

Couple of questions we have had today from customers :-

β€’ Do you only stop at certain stops?? No we serve every bus stop on the route, as long as you put your hand out to hail the bus the driver will stop.
β€’ Can we get Paper Timetables?? Yes, there will be timetables on the buses, just ask for one off our drivers and they will give you a copy.
β€’ Do you accept my Pensioners Pass?? (I think they meant NowCard but you get the gist πŸ˜…) Yes we sure do!!!
β€’ Are all your drivers new....will they know where to stop?? No, we have got a good proportion of your current, friendly drivers joining us and they are out and about this week showing those who are new to the route the finer details so we provide you all with the best possible service.

The Archway app is in the testing stage and we will be releasing that this to you shortly. On the app you can Track Your Bus, Buy Tickets and View Timetable Infomation ⏰️

You will see our new little buses out and about this week as we begin to train our new drivers on the route. Be sure to give them a wave πŸ‘‹ but remember they can't stop yet πŸ‘‹(You may also see a few familiar faces aswell 🀫)

We have had a few new customers ask us if we will still be accepting Blackpool Transport Passes that have been bought already once we start operating our new Fylde Villager Services???

The answer is Yes!!! We will be accepting pre-purchased Blackpool Transport Tickets until the 31st August 2024!!!

We are working with Lancashire County Council to also be able to offer an AnyBus Fylde ticket in the future and we will keep you posted with any developments.

Remember we accept NowCards on both of the services and we are offering the Β£2 fare cap throughout the entire route as well as the Β£1 Cap after 7pm and Β£1 Cap All-Day Sunday.

Due to personal circumstances we have had a couple of our 74 & 75 driving team drop out and as such we have 2 positions available 🚍

So why would you want to leave your current job and come and work for us:-

πŸ’· Pay (the most important one!!!) - We offer Β£14 per hour, paid weekly into your bank on a Friday. Your payslips are available to view via an Online App .

✈️ Holidays (everyone needs a break...right) We offer you 32 days paid holiday, your holiday pay is worked out over your average weekly hours.

πŸ“– Contracts (abit of safety and security) - You recieve a Contract of Employment which outlines your job rights and renumerations. It states how many hours you will work a week (based on your chosen shift patterns).

⏰️ Hours and Shifts (Everyone needs a life) We work differently to the big bus companies. We can tailor hours and shifts to fit your life, responsibilities or choices. You come to us and we'll have a chat and work out whats best for both of us (and you don't need to fill in a form and wait for a meeting before it gets signed off)

🍽 Breaks (brew time is always a good time) For this contract we have a dedicated break room in Poulton that is away from the public and a chance for you to relax and unwind. We don't pay for the first 1 hour of your breaks however but if you have a duty with multiple breaks....the additional breaks are paid.

πŸ‘¨πŸ‘© Culture (what??!!) We encourage a positive culture in our workplace. Everyone has a laugh, everyone gets on and we have a team culture at Archway. Ultimately we are a family company with family values and I will not ask anyone to do anything i wouldn't do myself. My Grandad started the business over 30 years ago, my dad carrying it on and ultimately i am here developing and growing the business to what it is today. This is a big opportunity for Archway and we are embracing it and looking forward to several years of service working with Lancashire County Council. Ultimately we all pull together to get the job done and have the craic whilst we are doing it. Workplace banter is a big thing for me and there is certainly no them and us culture like you get in big bus companies. Whilst there are managers in place for the day to day, ultimately any issues are dealt with by me. That said we recognise the fact that our staff are adults, with lives that comes with certain stresses and strains and we do our best to support you wherever possible.

🚐 Vehicles (ohh yeah...an important part of being a bus driver) We have invested heavily in our fleet over the last few years. For this contract we have a fleet of 10 ADL E200 MMC Buses, each with various creature comforts that will make your job as easy as it can be. The job can be stressful enough at times and i am a firm beliver of doing everything you can to make life easy!!! The vehicles are maintained in house by our IRTEC accredited workshop and IRTEC licensed Technicians.

πŸ’³ Licensing (The dreaded medical and Driver CPC renewal) We provide Driver CPC for all our staff, we pay for the course but not for you to attend. With regards to medical we work with a couple of Medical Providers to assist you in getting it booked and paid for. Obviously you need to have a Catergory D license and a valid current Driver CPC (Don't worry if yours runs out on the 9th Sept...we can work with you to sort that out)

So we have finally made it to the end of another bumper Summer Term here at πŸ‘

We have had an excellent time transporting thousands of people to various destinations throughout the country, welcoming new faces to our team and new vehicles to our fleet 🌟

That said we have to say a massive thankyou to everyone who works tirelessly to provide the best service to our customers - the cleaners, the mechanics, the office staff aswell as the drivers all work so hard and their efforts are noticed!!!

As with everything in life the occasional issue arises and this term has seen a couple. These have been dealt with internally and with customers and we apologise for any inconvenience that was caused at the time πŸ‘Ž

However as this term closes it paves the way for the next exciting new chapter here at Archway as we welcome the 74 & 75 'Fylde Villager' services into our portfolio. We are progressing rapidly getting the buses and the staff ready to meet all our new customers on the 18th August πŸ‘‹ Rest assured - your service is safe with us!!!

We will be posting regular updates over the coming weeks to keep you updates as to the progress 🚩

Lancashire County Council have released the timetables for our new "Fylde Villager" 74 & 75 services.

We will be out and about the week before we take over the service speaking to customers and offering out paper timetables for you to reference.

🌟🌟 We've had some exciting new deliveries over the last week as the first of your new look buses began to arrive 🌟🌟

These Brand New, Low Emission, Wheelchair Accessible buses are equipped with Soft Trimmed Seats, Seatbelts, Contactless Payments On-Board, USB Charging Points, Next Stop Annoucements & Hearing Loops.

We also have an excellent team of drivers joining us who are really looking forward to heading out and meeting our new customer base and showcasing our approach to Local Bus Services and providing the community of Rural Fylde with the best possible bus service 🏞🚌🚏
(You might even recognise a few of them)

The 'Archway App' is currently under development and will allow customers to track their bus, plan their journey aswell as being able to pre-purchase ticket Lancashire County Council's range of tickets to use onboard the bus 🚏

The paper timetables are in print and will be available to you soon πŸ•πŸ§Ύ

We will continue to update you as we go along but rest assured.....Your service is safe with us!!!
