It's been an exciting day for the Leas Lift as its two carriages were lifted off and taken away for renovation. It will take around 6 months to refurbish them, a programme supported by Rodney Tolhurst and the Rochester Bridge Trust who are supporting us financially with the restoration of the carriages. Things are really moving now!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last night at The Grand Burstin for our update on the restoration and re-opening of the Folkestone Leas Lift! 👏

It was fantastic to see so many members of the community come together to hear about the progress so far, key milestones ahead, and how you can stay involved as we move towards bringing this much-loved heritage gem back to life.

Brilliant stat!

Adult walruses weigh about 1.5 tonnes. Which is waaaay more than I thought it was.

Since the start of this year we've recycled about one walrus worth of electrical items! That's about 1.5 tonnes or a baby elephant, a hippo or 3 polar bears.
