An exciting cultural gem near the Forest.

Exciting times ahead. We have been busy planning our post COVID ventures! Part of the gallery space has been jazzed up to create an intimate performance space. Our plan is to shift focus onto the performing arts in our ‘boutique theatre’ space surrounded by incredible art and sculpture! Watch this space for a schedule of events. Looking to bring amazing, high calibre arts events to the rural community. Most events will be run as not for profit events by community interest company.

If anybody should spot a Rhea (Emu) on the Forest today, there are a few escaped. Please take care and keep dogs away. Here’s a message From the owner:

Good evening.
I am situated beyond Warren House - towards the Ashdown Forest.
On Thursday seven of us spent five hours rounding up and walking a group of five rheas back home.
Should you or anyone else see one of the escaped rheas - I think there are at least two out there still - do just text me with their whereabouts so I have some idea where they are.
The ONLY way I have any chance of retrieving them is if they can be shut away in a field (or barn).
I am in the process of doubling up their fencing here; however it seems atm that they escaped through an open ( !!! ) gate.
They are (unlike ostriches) harmless. Their only defence is running - which they’re very good at. They are vulnerable to dogs who can easily bite them and cause their eventual death when the wound goes septic.
Please stay in touch and tell other people.
Thanks again
Best wishes
Martin Haymes
