This is a walking tour in the town of Fort William which is situated in the Outdoor Capital of the UK, here in the West Highlands of Scotland. As your tour guide, I will provide you with the opportunity to enjoy a scenic walk with premium photo opportunities and also share with you some information about the local area - a truly authentic experience. As I was raised in Fort William and have also b
een hosting Airbnb since 2017, I regard myself as having good local knowledge. The Tour starts and finishes at Camanachd Bridge at the entrance to Inverlochy Village. The tour will offer an overview of the history of Old Inverlochy Castle, an overview of the history of Alvance Green Aluminium (previously known as The British Aluminium Company). I'll share information and anecdotes about Ben Nevis and the historic Old Fort. This is not a detailed in-depth dive in to local history as I do not consider myself to be a historical expert however, if you would like a more detailed exploration into local history, I would highly recommend a visit to the The West Highland Museum in Cameron Square, Fort William. As well as providing participants with information, the walk will provide an opportunity to ask questions about the area. I am also very happy to guide people to other sites or experiences worthy of a visit. You will be walking for approximately 1 hour so the Tour lasts 1 hour 15-30 with stops to give information.. It can muddy under foot on occassions. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
