What started as a small idea around 2 friend’s kitchen table who struggled to find great B & Bs for their friends and family to stay in & their determination to establish a directory of quality, personally chosen B&Bs that they themselves would love to use has developed into the business it is today.
“When we started Bed & Breakfast Nationwide, Rosie and I were young mums doing B&B near Harwich, commented Sue.
Visitors arriving on the ferries and others visiting the Tendring Peninsula, were asking for other good places to stay.
We decided to publish a brochure. This included those that replied to our 3,000 letters to B&B Hosts around the U.K.
That and our soon becoming the B&B agent for Brittany Ferries, things grew like Topsy!
The Little Green Book as its fondly referred to, has been in continuous print for 33 years, making it probably the UK’s (If not the Worlds’) longest established, printed B & B directory of its kind!
Published annually in December and with a print run in excess of 150,000 copies with availabilty in tourist information centres, P & O Ferries, many airports, train stations, visitor attractions such as zoos, wildlife parks, arts & crafts centres, pubs and restaurants, museums, historic monuments and selected retail outlets nationwide and of course through our hosts as well.
Its targeted- Fine-tuned over many years – and It works & Delivers!
We have selected some of the best B & Bs in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Each B & B has been personally vetted and selected for their warm welcome and quality of accommodation.
