I can't tell you how refreshing it was to watch this movie back then. Finally, there was an Eighties teen film that felt like it was written specifically for the generation with verve and a sense of humor. Yes, it made vampires attractive again, but it additionally incorporated a slew of pop culture references that resonated to dedicated comic book enthusiasts.
