Our cosy Highlands house has:
- 3 large double bedrooms
- 1 single bedroom
- 1 private room with sofa bed
- 2 bathrooms
- Lounge
- Kitchen/dining room
- Large porch
- Large garden
Cooker, dishwasher, washing machine. Large walk-in shower and bath. No wifi or TV, but plenty of books - it's a quiet place where you can get away from it all. It does just about have mobile signal,
so you don't have to go completely phone detox. Data on mobiles is patchy, but there's some.
*Location*
Located in the small village of Porthenderson, just beyond Badachro, Swn-Y-Mor sits at the end of a quiet road overlooking the sea and with a view of the mountains. Badachro has an excellent pub and resaurant, and the closest town, Gairloch, has shops, banks etc. Inverewe and its famous garden also close by. There is a plentiful variety of beautiful beaches littered all around, and it's a short drive to any number of hiking/mountain-climbing destinations. Other options inclide: boat trips, coastal walks, scenic drives, golf etc.
*Travel*
By plane, train or automobile. Really, you'll need a car to get about, so if you're quite far south and don't fancy the drive up, it's easy (and cheap) to fly to Inverness and hire a car there. The cottage is about 1hr 3/4 drive from the airport.
