Our four cottages include The Barn sleeping 4, Hawthorne Cottage sleeping 2/4 and cosy Helm and Herdwick Cottages both accommodating 2 guests. The Barn is spacious and open plan, with original beams, ample natural light, wonderful North Pennine views, a fully fitted kitchen and all essentials including a washing machine and tumble dryer. edroom, a large lounge and a well equipped kitchen. Herdwick and Helm Cottages are perfect for couples, featuring character beamed ceilings, en-suite double bedrooms and in Helm exposed red sandstone walls and a spiral staircase leading down to a kitchen diner. Each cottage contains a colour TV, DVD, radio/CD cassette player and heating. Fully equipped kitchens include cookers and hobs, microwaves, dishwashers, fridges, utensils and crockery. Guests have access to a shared courtyard with parking for one car per cottage. We also have bike storage space on-site. Booking includes all electric, heating, towels and bed-linen. Cots, highchairs and welcome baskets/ meals are also available – please request when booking.

Public transport to the village is limited - there are a couple of buses per week, but a mile away in Melmerby, there is a more regular bus service. We are happy to meet guests from the nearest railway stations (Langwathby or Penrith) on arrival and departure. The village is also served by several local taxi companies.

Situated just North East of Penrith, in the beautiful Eden Valley, Church Court Cottages are four beautiful sandstone cottages nestled under Hartside Fell in the village of Gamblesby, ideally placed for exploring the Lake District, the Eden Valley and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We’re just 1 mile from the scenic A686 road which pushes up to Alston market town and Hartside with its spectacular views. Parking is available on-site, and we’ll happily pick up guests from the nearby railway station on request. If you’re looking for a dog friendly short break or holiday in the Lakes and North Pennines, our four Eden Valley Cottages have the real ‘bow wow’ factor! Dogs stay FREE in all four of our quality cottages! Browse our website for more information on facilities and special offers. Short breaks available all year round. Weekend breaks from 4pm/Friday - 10am Monday. Midweek breaks from 4pm Monday - 10am Friday. Weekly bookings commence either Friday or Monday. All four cottages booked together accommodate up to 12 guests.
