One year ago Luis Manzaneda undertook a free solo ascent of the iconic Cavall Bernat's Punsola-Reniu route, a renowned climbing achievement in the Massif and Catalonia. This imposing needle dominates the landscape, its majestic presence visible from vast stretches of the region.

For many climbers, reaching its summit represents an eventual challenge they aspire to achieve. On November 24, 2022, Luis accomplished this feat without the security of a rope, and this is a tribute to his inspirational persona.

Pitch by pitch, we will embark on an exploration of this timeless route to gain deeper insights into it and to gain a greater understanding of Luis's mindset and the physical and mental preparation he underwent to tackle this climb.
