We are very excited to see Love Loan, gaining recognition at this year's Scottish Design Awards, with nominations in four categories. The AC Hotel Glasgow has been shortlisted in the Commercial/Office/Hotel Building or Project and Interior Design categories. Love Loan has been recognised in the Visualisation and Animation categories, with Float nominated for their visualisations of the lane. We are so pleased Love Loan and its buildings are now firmly part of the Glasgow landscape, with much more to come.

Within the AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow, the former Parish Halls building, is a beautiful stained glass window of the Glasgow city crest, depicting the legend of St Mungo, the Patron Saint of the city. The crest depicts the story of the tree that never grew, the fish that never swam, the bird that never flew and the bell that never rang, and the city's motto: 'Let Glasgow Flourish'.

The AC Hotel Glasgow at Love Loan now stands proudly on what was, until recently, a gap site adjacent to the former Parish Halls, which also now forms the beautiful heritage side of the hotel. Just look at the beautiful glass dome that has been brought back to life as part of Glasgow's skyline as part of our regeneration of the area.

The beautiful Liberty Suite is the jewel in the crown of the AC Hotel Glasgow, located at the top of the heritage building, the former Parish Halls.

Much of the original Victorian architecture of the building has been retained, including the cherubs around the ceiling representing different trades of Glasgow, the stunning glass dome with the original ‘Glasgow City Parish’ detailing and four fireplaces with engravings of the Glasgow crest, all with incredible views over the famous City Chambers and George Square.⠀

Have you ever wondered why we called our development Love Loan?

Love Loan was the name of a lane very close to where our site is now, with its first appearance in public records dating to the early 1800s. It was home to an eclectic mix of occupiers, before the University of Strathclyde took up residency at no.3 Love Loan from the 1930s to the 1960s. After that, Love Loan disappeared... until now.

Our new lane will once again be called Love Loan and welcome a vibrant mix of occupiers. It's time Love Loan came back to life. 🩷
