Scotland is home to many villages, just like Arrochar, where you’ll find the Alps… the Arrochar Alps that is! ⛰️
In a great location, close to Loch Long, Argyll Forest Park and of course, the Arrochar Alps which are fabulous for any would-be walkers (caution, experience is a must), a trip to Arrochar won’t disappoint.
Just another reason to visit us here in Scotland!

The Battle of Culloden took place on this very land you see below in 1746.
The Jacobites attempted to return James VIII to the throne, and after a proposed attack during nightfall that was unsuccessful and exhausted soldiers the following day, the Battle of Culloden didn’t end well for the Jacobite army.
They ended up retreating, with the Duke of Cumberland winning the battle… with approximately 1250 Jacobites said to have lost their lives during battle in less than one hour.

Dunfermline is the newest city here in Scotland, taking this title since 2022 following the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. However what you may not know is that Dunfermline was once the (ancient) capital of Scotland, with this mantle eventually being passed on to Edinburgh, which remains the capital to this day.

Have you visited the Cairngorms National Park?
Although the name may imply one vast parkland, in actual fact the park can be thought of as being “split up” due to the presence of certain mountains, meaning there’s so much to explore on your trip. ⛰️
The Callanish Standing Stones always look spectacular, but pair them up with skies like these and that’s a view you just can’t beat! 🤩

St Andrew’s Day is nearly here and we continue our focus on the highlights of Scotland today with our castles. At one time, Scotland had over 3,000 castles. Today, some are in ruins and others are in fabulous order and welcoming visitors from all over the world. The most famous castle is possibly Edinburgh Castle in our capital city where we traditionally ‘bring in the New Year’ at Hogmanay. But equally famous are Stirling Castle, Eilean Donan Castle and Balmoral Castle - all of which are open to the public at certain times of the year.
There has been a new sighting of ‘Nessie’ in the last few weeks. The most recent sighting of our famous monster was on the 15th of June. The official register states: "Etienne Camel, a pharmacist from Lyon, and his wife Eliane, were visiting Loch Ness and claimed to have spotted a 65ft-long dark shape moving just beneath the surface of the water for several minutes." "They were taking pictures from the west side of the loch near Invermoriston." This is the second record of an unexplained shape in the waters of Loch Ness this year. Will there be more sightings this year?
