Beautiful walks only 3 minute walk from Hazelwood

This is taking a 'walk in the woods' to another level. These timber walkways that wind through Glenariff Forest Park were first built about 100 years ago and have been reconstructed to offer one of the island of Ireland's most scenic walks.

Drop a 💚 below if you'd like to go on this walk.

Cushendun stunning scenery

I took a wee break to finish off some of my other pastimes but now back with another post, this time of Cushendun, the next village along the coast from Cushendall.

This is the start / finish of the 'Torr Scenic Drive', you have two options here if you travel from Cushendall, on leaving the village you can rejoin the main Causeway Coastal Route by heading up the side of the glen (you can see this road in the background of the image going diagonally up) or you can follow the Torr Scenic Drive.

Turning off to Cushendun will cut out the wonderful Glendun Viaduct bridge, a stunning piece of civil engineering which crosses Glendun over the Glendun Road and River but you can loop back to see it.

Cushendun is well worth visiting, it has some gorgeous architecture by Clough Williams-Ellis and a unique atmosphere and quality of its own, lots of places to walk and enjoy, including along the river. You will also find the Red Caves here as featured in the Game of Thrones series.

Parking can be difficult in the summer season, a good tip would to park near the toilets and play area (located mid way along the beach road) then walk back to the harbour via the grass path or beach.

In the photo this is half way along the beach beside the first clump of trees, visible in the image.

Thank you for your visit
