Two leopards playing… the cheeky boy couldn’t help but keep instigating moments if play, which I’m sure Mom was fed up of (especially after recently making a kill for them both)
When a leopard and hippo come face to face...
Following on from last week's image about the honey-mooning lion couple, here's a bit more of the action for you. Fascinating to watch this kind of behaviour but also the growling reverberates through you when they're this close - nothing quite like being there in real life, but hopefully this clip gives a small idea.
Beautiful sighting of a leopard as she calmly strolled by us, giving up on a hunt after being spotted by the nearby impalas. No doubt she'd try again later, but for now she needed to clear the area for the impalas to stand down from high alert, so we let her disappear into the bush.
Amazing moments like this are what make safaris so addicting - you can never predict what's round the next corner or what stories will unfold before you.
A glimpse into the high-adrenaline adventure some of our guests experienced recently - taking a scenic helicopter tour over the Greater Kruger and Blyde River Canyon area. We love being able to facilitate ways to gain new perspectives on the areas they visit - and this is a must do!
Volume up!
How to end the day in epic fashion? Find yourself a pride of lions as they start contact-calling all around you. Unbelievable and unforgettable!
Any modern digital camera that's been released in the last decade is capable of taking excellent photos. As much as people focus on the gear and kit, it's imperative to understand that you do not need to buy the most expensive camera in order to take good pictures whilst on your African safari.
More often that not, the trusty phone is more than capable of capturing the scene in front of you :)
Africa. Safari. Sunset. Elephant. A pretty good combination of ingredients, don’t you think? We did! 🐘
Pretty spectacular moments when a male lion walks straight past the car and almost underneath the tracker. Lions can be very boring as they spend so much time sleeping, but when they’re up and active it’s hard to deny their magnificence!
The ideal sighting - when an animal is completely relaxed with yours and the vehicles presence. The welfare of the subjects we photograph is always at the forefront of our priorities, meaning we utilise expert guides that understand their behaviours and will always make the decision to leave a sighting if the animal shows any sign of distress.
A real challenge for many safari goers to see - they truly live up to their elusive nature when they want to! But that only makes the excitement when you finally spot the flash of those rosettes all the more palpable!
Ready for weekend mayhem!
Baboons are fantastic characters to watch and photograph on safari - full of personality and you can guarantee at least one member of the troop will be up to some mischief!
A moment of cuteness to start the week off right! But in all seriousness there is not much more captivating that seeing youngsters play, interact and learn, regardless of the species! These particular cubs will no doubt grow up to be some very impressive cats!
Incredible predators and unforgettable if you are lucky enough to see them hunt or feed. Their small population numbers alongside their complex interactions and communications as a pack make it special every time.
Capturing every detail you cannot helped but he transfixed by the simplest of movements - a favourite for many on safari!
