Shamba Barn is nestled in the garden of Bond End Farm, a Grade II listed 400-year-old quintessential 'chocolate box' house set in an acre of beautiful landscaped and wild grounds. s believed to have been the farm's apple barn; old cider mill stones are scattered in the garden. It has been lovingly converted to provide a delightful one double bedroom holiday cottage, fitted and furnished to a luxury standard. It's perfect for all seasons, with the gardens bursting with a large variety of plants and bird-life, often visited by deer, pheasant and rabbits. The large private patio, equipped with fire pit, is fragrance by scented roses in the summer and is a warm sun-trap, perfect for watching colourful sunsets. Cosy up, light the fire and settle in for games, reading or just good company. It's good for your soul to switch off and get-away :-)

The village has a Post Office and general store for essentials, plus the Portland Farm Shop, just a stroll across the fields, provides delicious local meat and produce. Shamba Barn is perfectly located to enjoy both rural and urban delights. The Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the buzz, shopping and festivals of the cities of Gloucester and Cheltenham - or Bristol & Bath - are all within easy reach. Walking, cycling, riding, skiing, Cotswold villages & pubs, shopping, eating, horse riding & racing, culture, theatre, even cheese-rolling are all on offer. The barn's features include:

Shamba means 'Farm' in Swahili, reflecting the African connections of the owner. All the furnishings and contents have a story and we hope that our guests find their time in the Barn holds a special place in their own journey or story, whatever the occasion. So, 'Karibu!', Swahili for 'Welcome!'.
