Birmingham has the largest authentic German market in Europe outside of Germany and Austria, with 5.5 million visitors in 2019. Consisting of the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market and the Craft Market, the market has grown from just 24 stalls in 2001 to 180 this year, covering New Street, Victoria Square and Centenary Square.

The Frankfurt Market offers a wide range of products, including Christmas decorations, handcrafted jewellery, carved wooden toys, sausages, beer and pretzels, while Christmas Craft Market will offer handmade crafts, soaps and candles by local artisans, as well as a wide range of unique and quirky items imported from around the world. We know how it is, Boxing Day rolls around and you finally feel like walking off some of that Christmas fodder and getting some fresh air, and the Whitby Boxing Day Big Dip is the perfect way to keep the festive fun going. In fact, we can’t think of a better way to keep the family entertained on Boxing Day.
This is an annual event that takes place at Whitby Bandstand. It has become somewhat of a tradition in the beautiful little seaside town to enjoy a rather refreshing dip in the North Sea on Boxing Day morning. It’s certainly a unique and memorable experience that will raise lots of money for local charities. Fancy dress is a must, for many dippers, with prizes available for the best! In previous years, we have had some fantastic costumes such as dinosaurs, Batman and Robin, Christmas trees and even a team of traffic cones and a fancy dress wedding proposal!

After a leisurely breakfast, we take a half day excursion to Royal Leamington Spa, a beautifully decorated quaint town full of history, shopping opportunities and restaurants. We suggest heading to the Regent Court for a delicious lunch or take a walk around Victoria Park and the 'Pump Room Gardens'. We head back to the hotel early afternoon where there will be activities in the form of a quiz, bingo or a competition. Tonights theme is 'France', dress to impress for this evenings entertainment and dinner. Afterwards, why not join others as they head to the local church for Midnight Mass, staff will be on hand to direct you to the church if you wish. What a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve!
