Even with the wet weather and the river levels at record highs last month our local Kingfishers have still been very active - fortunately the last broods of 3 pairs I've been keeping an eye on fledged just 1-2 days before the nest sites were under water. Here are some photos from the last few weeks, enjoy.

Delighted to be supporting this great competition again this year, and see the work of some talented up and coming photographers too 👏🏻👏🏻

“…You never know when those "moments" will occur, so take your camera with you wherever you go and be aware of the beauty in nature around you.”

We’re delighted to have Steve Gozdz, professional wildlife photographer and founder of GG Wildlife Experiences, on our panel of experts to judge this year’s photography competition. Not only that, but all category winners will be able to hone their skills with Steve in a wildlife photography masterclass.

The contest closes on Monday 26 August, so this is your final week to capture a nature moment and send us your snaps for a chance to win prizes and awards!

*SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT*

Following requests from customers who wanted prints from photos taken on their experience; but were looking for a more "Artistic Style" as they didn't fit in with existing art or the décor. I've been experimenting with different effects and styles - this I particularly like.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? - WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MORE LIKE THIS?

LAST EXPERIENCE OF 2023 - Weds 10am Kingfisher Spotting!
Absolutely delighted with the increase in visitors, experience takers, and returning customers during 2023.
Almost all come via recommendation, and some are visiting from quite far afield - further north in the UK, some Europe, and now the US!
We’ll be running our final Kingfisher Spotting walk of 2023, which is our final event of the year, this coming Weds at 10am.
We have had some amazing sightings over this year, of several pairs with broods.
A beautiful place to live and work, Goring on Thames.
If I don’t see you at this, hopefully see you in 2024! 💚
E-Vouchers are available if you want to gift a unique experience to a loved one - from Kingfisher Spotting to Boat Trips, Group Walks to meet like minded people to private events for families or individuals, photography lessons to day trips.

DO YOU CLOSE OVER THE WINTER?
Whilst we offer fewer dates, we certainly don’t - and this has been the busiest Autumn into Winter yet!
A gorgeous start today…. A 4 hour experience with sunrise, mist, glinting frost…. And I have no doubt, a Kingfisher or an Otter for our guests 💚

We also offer less dates as a few hours a day is spent on vouchers as people start getting ready for Christmas Gifting, buying their vouchers online. Looking forward to seeing so many of you already in 2024! 🎁

AUTUMN SIGHTINGS!
Sorry for the radio silence; the experience bookings have not slowed as we headed into Autumn - and the volume of Kingfisher sightings have been phenomenal!
Even just yesterday, a Walking up an Appetite experience had four Kingfishers sightings, some for some time as they fished and moved back and forth.
Absolutely delightful!
We still have some experiences available to book Pre Christmas (sorry, the dreaded C word), and yes, dates for next year are going on this week so you can get ahead.
Have a great week!

Wildlife Photographer, Walks Guide, Art & Card producer

Goring Gap Wildlife Walks was born from my life long passion for wildlife, and in particular birds of all varieties... alongside my love of sharing knowledge.

For years I have had a keen interest in birds, and from a young age was encouraged to explore this by my grandfather and my parents. Over time this developed alongside a love of photography.

My partner and I moved to The Chilterns as we wanted to live somewhere beautiful to be able to develop my photography and wildlife passions; somewhere with a really diverse mix of wildlife, and some great local amenities such as shops, eateries and community services and Goring & Streatley was perfect!

My services range from wildlife walks and wildlife watch services - including gift cards for both (see www.gorginggapwildlifewalks.co.uk), to designing and printing cards (can be seen on my etsy shop here https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BeautifulWildlifeArt, or can be purchased direct on [email protected]), to photography services for local businesses, to partnerships with companies who run local or national bespoke events and would like a wildlife angle or section to their offering.
