Ozzie the cockapoo and his family came to stay at Engine House recently and had a wonderful week exploring - despite the rain! He particularly enjoyed the coastal path and taking in the view at The Coastguards Lookout 😁
Ozzie's mum was equally as impressed:

We have had a flurry of bookings over the past week, as new and returning guests make plans for 2025. Don't forget there is still time this year to book a short break or week away to the wilds of Cornwall. Blow away the cobwebs 🕸and get down to the beach early in the morning to listen to the waves crash, or light the fire and enjoy lazy coffee and crumpets.
There are even a couple of cottages available for Christmas!🎄 It really is the most perfect time to visit Cornwall; with lots of local events, festivities and mulled everything.🍷

We can confidently say that we are having a 'proper' Autumn in Cornwall so far. Blustery days, blue skies and the low sun casting its golden light over the ever-changing landscape. There is something comforting about Autumn; maybe it's the darker evenings making us want to hunker down, or the familiar childhood smells such as woodsmoke and damp leaves. What better time is there to switch off and escape your normal, and what better place than the Caerhays Estate. 🍂🍁🍃

Today is really showing us why Cornwall is particularly stunning in the Autumn. The trees are just changing colour and the sea has this mesmerising look of rippling mercury. 🌊
Pubs have fires roaring in the evenings, and the restaurants have unveiled comforting and delicious autumn menus. What is not to love about this time of year?

The Engine House is tucked away on the edge of Caerhays Gardens, and is a very short walk from the South West Coastal Path which runs for 630 miles! Of course we are not suggesting you tackle all of this in day but it is a start. 😉
As one of our dog friendly properties, you can bring your beloved best friends with you and they can have their own little holiday exploring the beach and local area. With so many pubs and restaurants allowing well behaved dogs, this is the perfect opportunity to have a real family holiday. 🐾

We can't think of a more glorious trio of self catering cottages, and all so close to the beach too. Did you know that Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was filmed at Portholland? Rabbit Warren is set in a wing of Caerhays Castle and is only a short walk down the drive to Porthluney Beach. We have availability in August which is unheard of, so if you are looking to escape, hurry over to our website to book your stay from the 19th August.
Sleeping four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the Rabbit Warren is the perfect retreat for families and friends to enjoy.
