Bog school was so fun today! We started on the 🤫 🎄 seasonal crafts, did loads of brash clearing ready to restore some cold frames for growing bog plants, and of course any excuse for a fire at this time of year! ❄️😊

It's been a chilly week ❄️☺️

We have been looking after baby trees, digging (struggling in the hard icy soil), admiring the cozy sleepy dog, wondering why ice grows the way it does and doing some of our own ice experiments, crafting, and restocking all the bug hotels for the sleepy bugs

What a busy outsidy week we have had! 🌄

Forest school - today's sessions were a joy to behold. In the morning there was a lot of focus on digging, resulting in some students finding clay and discussing different earth types, then making clay tree faces 🍂 another group looked at what collections and groupings of natural resources they could collect and creat things with to make a mini shop and traded things with each other. This afternoons group made an impromptu decision to explore further afield so we adventures to a different habitat and discovered the beauty of limestone pavements and what secrets they hold 😊

Bog school - sadly we finished our Autumnal topic this week (autumn is always my favourite) We will be moving into the cooler months so going forward will be focusing on Hibernation, weather and some festive crafting too 😊 excited to see you all next week ❄️🪵

This mornings group had a go at creating some mini mixed media works of art today. Their vase full of flowers pictures are quite fantastic 😍 🌸🌼

The stone age is all the rage with our older students, we have been making spears, axes, learning how to cope without our "normal" tools, and we created some paint from stone pigments to make our own masterpieces 🪨

Our young forest schoolers have been enjoying honouring the seasonal changes over this half terms sessions. Lots of fire lighting, bird watching, animal tracking and looking out for signs of life emerging from the winters sleep.
