**** Covid Update 19th July ****

We are looking forward to restrictions being lifted in England tomorrow, however we have decided for now, not to change too much.

😷As we are a busy venue with a high footfall our staff will continue to wear masks whilst serving inside. Whilst we realise it isn’t mandatory for customers to, we would encourage mask wearing when moving around inside areas. Please respect those who wish to wear masks and continue to keep a safe distance from others.
🍽 We have decided to continue operating with table service inside and outside guests ordering from the service point set up in the garden. We will continue to have two sittings in the evenings with all tables in the bar and restaurant bookable. As we are full most evenings we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. We are also hoping to reopen the Lodge Restaurant as of the 23rd July.
🍳For now, breakfast service in the Lodge will continue with our pre ordering system and room service if requested.
😢 Sadly we are still short staffed and so if you are trying to get through on the phone and there is no answer, please call back or send an email or DM and we will endeavour to respond as soon as we get a chance.
❤️Most of all, please be kind and respectful towards others and remember the pandemic isn’t over yet!
✌️& ❤️

An lovely post from Cumbrian Rambler about some of the local walks. We love The Lancrigg too. We came upon it on the way down from Easedale, finding a wee gate into the magical woodland garden, and much needed refreshment. Sunshine on the terrace and the sound of a woodpecker echoing through the trees.

Grasmere is a victim of its own success - it's a gorgeous little village, right in the heart of the Lake District, crammed full of history...

This looks a lovely and unusual collection of poems by William Wordworth, produced and sold locally and featuring a number of contemporary Lakeland artists - one for the Spinners book collection next year?

Wordsworth’s Best-Loved Poems consists of twenty poems, selected by Andy Wild and Mike Healey, with illustrations by eighteen contemporary Lakeland artists. For those who live and work in the Lake District, the poetry of William Wordsworth still resonates – 167 years after his death. Even those of u...

A few ideas for fun if you are staying in the Lakes with young children. Our children also loved visiting Whinlatter, climbing Castlehead http://www.keswick.org/explore/not-to-miss/castlehead, and playing on the shore at the Rydal end of Grasmere lake.

5 things to do with your little ones whatever the weather! The Lake District is famed for its beautiful scenery and breath-taking views, however as mum of a toddler it is not often I get to venture out anywhere, let alone up the fells. When I do go out it normally consists of somewhere child orientat...

The Tour of Britain is going through Grasmere around 2.13pm – 2.54pm on Monday 5th September. There'll be some disruption with road restrictions as it passes through the village (sprinting right past Spinners, I believe) but on the other hand Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish will be taking part! Wish we were there...

People are urged to plan their journeys through Cumbria next Monday as the county welcomes the return of the Tour of Britain.
