Please try to keep our beautiful area clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy.

As the weather is brightening up, more visitors are coming to the North York Moors to explore all our beautiful National Park has to offer 👣🚴🐦🌼

However, unlike towns and cities, you won’t find many bins out in the open countryside. As well as the difficulties of emptying them in hard to reach places, they also detract from the National Park's natural beauty.

If you drop your rubbish, it's likely that a bird or animal will pick it up, eat it or get caught in it. Give nature a chance and take your rubbish home, and share our national park with care.

Please take great care when out and about.

With all the recent dry weather we are now on fire alert! This means there's a greater risk of wildfires.🔥

Please come and enjoy the National Park but be vigilant. Most wildfires can be prevented so please don’t light fires or BBQs and don’t discard matches, ci******es or glass bottles. Thank you! ☎️ Call 999 if you see a fire.

Happy Yorkshire Day everyone. Celebrate our beautiful county. 💕

With Met Office weather predictions showing extreme heat over the coming days we are increasingly concerned about the risk of wildfires.

While the term ‘wildfire’ might lead people to think that these events are natural disasters, it’s the actions of people which pose by far the greatest risks.

Under no circumstance should anyone be using barbeques or lighting campfires, and great care should be taken when disposing of items such as ci******es or glass bottles. This includes throwing cigarette ends out of car windows, which can lead to roadside fires that spread into sensitive landscapes.

A wildfire in the National Park would be a disaster for our very special moorland and woodland habitats so please take extra care and remain vigilant.

If you do see a fire, call 999 asking for the fire service.

Our moorlands are very beautiful at the moment, but also very fragile. Dry conditions mean we remain at risk of wildfire.

Help care for our moorlands and its wildlife by not lighting fires or BBQs and do not discard ci******es, matches or glass bottles. Please take all litter home.

If you do see a fire, call 999 asking for the fire service.

Take care folks

If you're heading to the National Park this weekend, please be aware that with all the recent dry weather we are now on fire alert! This means there's currently an increased risk of moorland and forest fires.

You can still enjoy the National Park safely, but please do not light fires or BBQs and do not discard ci******es, matches or glass bottles, including throwing cigarette ends out of car windows.

Past experience has shown us that under these types of conditions, moorland fires can spread extremely quickly causing significant damage to the landscape and its wildlife.

If you do see a fire, call 999 asking for the fire service. The period for controlled heather burning on the North York Moors ended on 15 April, which means any sighted fires will be wildfire.

Ilkley took home the crown, but some locations close to Teesside were included in the list

Why does this have to be repeated year after year? Keep dogs on leads near livestock. It's not rocket science!!
