Doris Dobby, our pub dog, is somewhat of an old gal these days and is mostly retired from hospitality life, although sometimes she makes it in to check that everything is all in order.
Duckling Cottage was on the agenda for a quick look around today, our very own self-catering property that sleeps six and of course allows dogs!
As always places go super fast for these workshops with Sue Welfare and Claire Howard, but we always have such a fab day work with these talented woman.
A little 90th Birthday summer garden party at Barrack House. The sun shone and the peach Bellini flowed, a lovely chilled event.
I few snaps from our wreath making workshop with Hannah Hunnam Flowers. Everyone absorbed Hannah’s creativity and created some beautiful wreaths, fueled by mulled wine, caffeine and yummy cake.
This is our last workshop of the year but we have some very exciting ‘Secret Events’ to announce through 2024.

Another workshop down, part of our ‘secret events’ at Barrack House located next to our pub The Dabbling Duck . The lovely group had a day on Lino printing and jewellery making with lunch at the pub and sweet street in the afternoon .
We only ever have a limited number available for these workshops, so you always have to secure a place quickly , so watch out for the next one.

Great afternoon yesterday a monthly market of small unique businesses . Well worth a visit especially on a sunny afternoon as we did.
Part of our 'Duck Brood' is Duckling Cottage, located a few doors down from our pub, The Dabbling Duck Pub , with views of the duck pond and right in the centre of the beautiful village of Great Massingham; what could be better?

We have had some beautiful sunny days recently, which means stunning sunsets.
Wells-next-the-sea is under half an hours drive from Great Massingham, so you get to explore the beaches as well as the countryside . LUCKY .
Barrack House Bathrooms, well, they are something to talk about.
We have kept these light, fresh and clean lines but with a sympathetic thought to the Victorian heritage of the house, except for Toad Hall's bathroom, where we went all out and gave you a rather indulgent pink double shower! Oops
Both Duckling Cottage and Barrack House are ready for the families staying for a few days over Christmas . We wish everyone a fabulous festive holidays !
Amazing that these are all still flowering in our Barrack House garden in November, it brightens a dreary day for sure.

A must when you vist us is Cookies Crab shop. Local seafood at its best absolutely, no frills with just good seafood at its core, views over the marsh is pretty special, its a hidden gem if you just want simple.
