We took a little trip into Gorleston this morning to do some crabbing. There's also a Punch and Judy show on in the park all through the summer. 💚

💚 WE RECOMMEND ... 💚

This weekend we visited Horsey Gap, where you will find a colony of seals lounging around on the beach and bobbing around in the sea. It's around a 30 min drive, and really is an amazing sight!

Seal watching at Horsey Gap is possible all year round but in the late autumn and early winter Horsey beach becomes seal central.

Dogs are allowed on the beach, but must be kept on a lead.

Your pooches are welcome to stay with you at Meliora*

Dog bowls, a feeding mat and those all-important poo bags can be found in the kitchen cupboard. All we ask is that you don't take them home with you, and you bring a blanket for the sofa.

💩 There are plenty of poo bins located around the park, so please bag it and bin it.

*There is an additional charge of £50 to cover any necessary additional cleaning etc.

For the parkrunners among you, there are two parkruns close to Hopton - Lowestoft and Gorleston Cliffs. I ventured down to Gorleston Cliffs this morning. It's a lovely friendly straight course, with lots of free parking and only a 7 minute drive away. 🏃🏼‍♀️

We know that when you arrive the first thing you need is a cup of tea/coffee. Every booking includes a welcome pack ready for that hot drink, along with washing up essentials and hand soaps for the bathrooms to make your stay just a little bit easier. 💚

Hopton is now closed to the public and so we have come to the end of our first season as owners.

We would like to thank all of our guests in 2023 for supporting us this year. We hope you enjoyed your stay at Meliora. It's been a learning curve for us, so if you have any feedback or suggestions we would love to hear them.

Thanks also to those of you that have enquired, and we are sorry if we couldn't accommodate you.
