Clyde Charters operate from James Watt Marina in Greenock and Kip Marina in Inverkip providing special day trips for customers to enjoy the hidden gems of the River Clyde and surrounding lochs.

Our weekend trips are now up and available to book.
Sat morning we are now full on our Dolphin Spotting trip.
Sat afternoon and evening we have Sugar Boat Trips. These all leave from James Watt Dock Marina, by Clyde Charters .

Sunday trips leave from Kip Marina Inverkip.
In the morning we have a 3-4 hour trip around Little Cumbrae, anchoring in the bay by the 14th Castle to watch the locals seals, before returning.
In the afternoon we have our Dolphin Spotting trip, the same as the Saturday trip just leaving from Kip instead.

In June this year, we had a visit from a Humpback Whale which created a huge buzz.
Lyndsay from the Scottish Humpback ID project confirmed that this particular animal had never been recorded in Scottish waters before. He/she has now been recorded as SCUK106.
We created a poll to give this whale a name. Although there were many names to choose from, the most popular choice was LOCHIE.
SCUK106-LOCHIE is the name of our Humpback visitor.
Thanks to Lyndsay for all her hard work, we will hopefully be able to find out more about Lochie. I wonder where he will pop up next?

While it was a little on the drizzly side on Friday evening, 9 paddleboards had a great time up in the Kyles of Bute, paddled with some porpoises and followed by a curious seal.
Sunday was a Private charter on our Scenic and Wildlife trip.

1 year ago we took our 1st charter guests out onto the Clyde. It has been a great 1st year, over 1000 followers on Facebook and growing. We have become British Divers Marine Life Rescue medics and are the only WiSe Scheme certified boat tour on this side of the Clyde, we have to look after our wildlife after all. We won the Inverclyde Chamber tourism ICON award in 2022.

A HUGE thank you to all of our guests this past year.

Calling all citizen scientists! National Whale and Dolphin Watch is just one month away, from 29th July to 6th August. This is your chance to contribute to vital cetacean research by recording your sightings of whales, dolphins, and porpoises in UK waters.

Cetaceans are important indicators of the health of our oceans. By collecting data on their distribution and abundance, we can track changes in their populations over time and identify areas where they are most at risk. This information can then be used to inform conservation efforts and protect these amazing creatures for future generations.

To take part in National Whale and Dolphin Watch, all you need to do is go for a walk or boat trip along the coast and keep an eye out for cetaceans. If you see any, you can record your sighting on our website using our simple online form or via our SeaWatcher app.

Your sightings will be added to a national database that is used by scientists and conservationists to track cetacean populations. Even if you don't see any cetaceans, your sighting absence data is still valuable to us. Every bit of information helps us to build a better picture of cetacean populations in UK waters.
